Topic: Transparency on DetonationFilms explosion stock footage

I'm have to do a special effect for Tybalt Vs. Romeo, and last few times I've tried using detonatinfilms' explosion stock footage, I get it to end up sort of transparent from the chroma key in Vegas.

Does anyone know haow to prevent this? Would I have to chroma key the original effect, then put another chroma key of it with just the Alpha channel underlayed?

Hmm, would doing a screen blending mode help at all? If it's a black background, it'll do. It might work with some blue backgrounds, but I haven't tried it out yet.

Try a luma key, or layer a bunch of the transparent explosions on top of each other.

Just change the blend mode to screen, a bit easier than chroma keying the footage.

Thanks for the info guys! I just messed around with some variables on the chroma keying settings an it ended up working well.
