Topic: EASTER Brickfilming Festival 2011 [CLOSED]

By popular demand, Hazzat and I have decided to bring back the EASTER contest for another round after it was last held by richardfrost in 2007.

EASTER, obviously, stands for Enjoy A Short Transient Event Right-away.

1. The film has to be in some way about Easter, but does not need to be religious.
2. Running time, including credits, must not exceed 15 seconds.
3. The film must feature primarily stop-motion animation with LEGO, or similar products (Mega Blox, Best-Lock etc.) Your entries may feature live-action, CGI, Flash or other kinds of animation as long as the stop-motion LEGO is the main focus.
4. Use of copyrighted material is permitted, but discouraged.
5. No strong language, violence or sexual themes are permitted. If in doubt, think "Would my entry be safely viewable by everyone on the site?"
6. Include the credit 'Made for EASTER Brickfilming Festival 2011' at the beginning or end of your film.
7. One entry per person.
8. A poll will determine the winner. To vote, you must enter the contest and if you enter the contest you must vote, or your entry will be disqualified. Staff members may also vote if they wish.

To submit your film PM/email a link to Hazzat, with the subject header 'EASTER 2011'.

Your film can be made public before the deadline.

All entries for this contest must be submitted before midnight GMT on April 24th (Easter Sunday).

3rd and 2nd place
Both prize winners here will receive one "passenger" minifig each, built inside the bag. Keep it in the bag or take it out and use it, I don't mind!

First place
Should your film receive the most votes, you will receive one collectable minifigure of your choice (as long as it's in this picture). Some of the accessories (or in some cases, whole minifigs) are missing, but I'm sure I could find them for you if that's the one you want.

Let's get this on the road!

Public voting? Lame. It's a small contest so I guess I shouldn't care too much

Great, I've always wanted to enter a contest like this. I have a question though, is this an official BiM contest? Or is it just run by you guys?

Re: EASTER Brickfilming Festival 2011 [CLOSED]

Just us guys. Sméagol didn't want it to be official, but he's cool with it happening.

Re: EASTER Brickfilming Festival 2011 [CLOSED]

YES! I had no idea my idea for this would be so popular.

Re: EASTER Brickfilming Festival 2011 [CLOSED]

Wonderful idea, I'll be greatly looking forward to entering something. Two questions though, actually: first of all, is there any limit to the number of entries you can put forward? And also, can entrants vote just so long as they don't vote for their own film? Thanks.

I'll be back animating soon! Exams and computer faults are keeping me away </3

You can make one pretty easily.

Sounds good, hopefully I can enter.

Can we make our films public before the deadline though?

So yeah, I'm back from my mind.

Re: EASTER Brickfilming Festival 2011 [CLOSED]

I had an idea but now I may have to shorten it because of time restrictions.

I'll enter mini/bigsmile ! Thanks to GoldenCamera, Danimation and Hazzat.

Re: EASTER Brickfilming Festival 2011 [CLOSED]

I'll be entering, good thing I found my LEGO Nesquik Bunny. I was hoping the time limit would be 25 seconds though. mini/sad

Re: EASTER Brickfilming Festival 2011 [CLOSED]

Yes.

It's not public voting; it's the entrants who vote.

This is the point of the contest. If you're struggling, why not watch some of the 2007 entries?

If you enter, you have to vote for the winner, or you are disqualified. You can only vote if you enter.

Re: EASTER Brickfilming Festival 2011 [CLOSED]

I'd prefer if the time restriction was 25-30 seconds.
