Re: BiM 2011: TOY [CLOSED]

I'm not! WITCHES.

Re: BiM 2011: TOY [CLOSED]

So who here is not making a film about a war?

Well, mine isn't. There's a ton more options out there than just doing wars because they seem cool and you'd love a ton of battle scenes in your film. There's been TONS of stuff that happened in the whole history of the world. In my opinion the most cool and exciting stuff is the way back things that take place in Central America (Mayans, lost cultures, blood sacrifices, all that really cool stuff), Egypt (Pharaohs, tombs, pyramids, kings), Asia (ninjas, samurai, shoguns, temples) and lots of other good things like that. I really hope to see some of those entered in the contest.

Congratulations! When I heard of this contest, I thought, "Oh great... Not more WW2 films." So my film is not about war, its about an art crime in 1872. (although it takes place in the aftermath of the Franco-Prussian War) I hope that there are more original stories than "World war 2 d-day" "Battle of the Alamo" stuff like that... mini/smile

Re: BiM 2011: TOY [CLOSED]

mine is taking place in the Persian, Middle Eastern Orient place, with the Raiders from the dessert. ok, the saving princess is alright a story, but the focus is on Jeremiah, on his struggle.

Re: BiM 2011: TOY [CLOSED]

The only war in my film takes place in a conference room.

Re: BiM 2011: TOY [CLOSED]

the only war in my film is a scene where some Raiders charge in to the city, and of cause it burns to the ground, and um, well, I'm not saying no more

Hmm... I've just had a thought. Who's to say it has to be about the Holocene Era? There's millions, billions of years to be explored before humans. I'm not saying it'll be easy to use them or make a story out of them, but the possibility is always there...

I don't make Brickfilms. I trade virtual hats.

Re: BiM 2011: TOY [CLOSED]

Is it okay for someone to be telling a story from the past? Like "Many generations ago..." Etc? The story teller is in modern times, but the story is from a long time ago?

Re: BiM 2011: TOY [CLOSED]

I'm looking forward to the entries. My films going to be about WW2, but I'm not a fan of war films, so I'm not going to make it into a film about lego people blowing each others' heads off. In fact, at least half mine will be based on a true story.
I'll probably be making another film after, but I already know what's going to be my main entry. I'll get started straight after I finished my Freerunning challenge entry.

Re: BiM 2011: TOY [CLOSED]

Finally got a solid idea for my entry.

I'm probably going to write the entire script the two weeks I'm in California over the break.

Re: BiM 2011: TOY [CLOSED]

I still haven't found a solid idea but to tell you the truth I don't care. I think I'll find something by the end of April.

done the third draft of my script already

Re: BiM 2011: TOY [CLOSED]

You know what, I've been slacking the past four months. I should probably start working on my entry before it's too late like what happened last time.

After a five year hiatus, I have returned

Re: BiM 2011: TOY [CLOSED]

I'm wondering if I should try to enter, or if it's too late to start...input anyone?

Re: BiM 2011: TOY [CLOSED]

I plan to do a film set in the cold war, probably in East berlin or something. Sadly, I might not be able to enter as I have a hectic work schedule with a MAJOR exam taking place this year. For example, a teacher has given us 8 exam mock papers to be completed this week. mini/twitch  Hope to be able to do it after CCA stand down.

You can do anything, just have fun while doing it.

Re: BiM 2011: TOY [CLOSED]

I'm going to start writing the monologue for my surprise entry for TOY.
