Chinatown
I need to watch this again and pay more attention. Its meant to be regarded as one of the greatest movies of all time, but I missed out the whole sub-plot about the corrupt water company - it just seemed to fade away. But again, I need to give this another viewing. A slow-paced movie like this deserves viewing earlier in the day when I'm paying more attention and am not as easily distracted.
To be honest, I wish I'd chosen to watch 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon' - I've seen the beginning and it looks like an incredible movie. But it didn't boast in the Sky Menu description as being 'one of the greatest movies of all time', and didn't have an over-long intro by a guy telling us this that we are about to behold a spectacle like no other (OK, he didn't quite say it like that....)
Now, I'm off to see when its showing again so I can understand it better - but from what I saw, it seems as complex as an episode of 'Pirot' but with a shoe-horned message at the end of Chinatown being a 'corrupt, dark, and lawless place' instead of identifying an actual killer. But I need to watch again when I'm not tired (my parents and my cat fell asleep, and I was very close to joining them)
