Re: "Brick to Brick" A Brickfilm Review "Podcast" (Episode 2 now out!)

how often do you plan on making these so i know when to check back mini/wink

Re: "Brick to Brick" A Brickfilm Review "Podcast" (Episode 2 now out!)

I don't see why you would review an old movie like Unrenewable. It would work best if you reviewed new films.

Also,

Contain no Strong Language, Strong Violence, or Strong Sexual Themes

What if the greatest brickfilm ever has one of those traits?

Re: "Brick to Brick" A Brickfilm Review "Podcast" (Episode 2 now out!)

Yeah, I find that kind of pointless. What is this for, Disney Channel?

Re: "Brick to Brick" A Brickfilm Review "Podcast" (Episode 2 now out!)

I made Unrenewable in about 45 days.  Though that's not including the brief script writing process, a bit of setting building, and some of the dialog recording.

I see what you mean, I just though it would work for introducing the concept idea and Lucas liked it so we reviewed it.

On my spectrum, none of the greatest films have been strong in any of those categories. But just to make this clear as well, that these conditions are to be judged first by the suggester's view of the spectrum, then my view, not the creator's view. So the film could be marked down for strong violence for example, but if it was clean in my head, and the mark was unnecessary, then we would still review it. Probably doesn't make sense.

I simply thought if I put this down, the viewer/suggester's conscience would filter the freak films out of the suggestions.

Why yes.[/sarcasm]

Loved this, it was really very awesome. Maybe your could review Megaphone by Hazzat? It's one of my all time favourites. mini/bigsmile

Believe it or not, that was and hopefully will be on our next episode.

The first episode wasn't bad, but you guys over-used the word "epic".

You know... Unrenewable IS Epic.

Re: "Brick to Brick" A Brickfilm Review "Podcast" (Episode 2 now out!)

If by EPIC you mean EPICLY OVERRATED, then yes, yes it is.

Yes, I am afraid I have to agree with that, I have to talk to someone about varying how they describe films.

Re: "Brick to Brick" A Brickfilm Review "Podcast" (Episode 2 now out!)

Loved it. I thought you were a little critical of Picturesque when you strayed to it a few times, considering it had several hundred VFX shots. But then again, its my favorite brickfilm of all time. I'm actually glad you said you wouldn't review a film with language in it, because i think that just makes a film low class.
Anyway, great job on the whole thing! Can't wait for more!

wow guys, this is great!  love it
although, i recommend adding in the sound of the film you're reviewing in post-production.  that way, the listeners can sorta keep up and know what's going on in the film. mini/wink

So nearly every film ever is 'low in class'? Psheesh, AND I THOUGHT G-FORCE WAS LOW.

Yeah, that's a good idea. If you have the person who made it with them, it could be like those commentary versions of a film you find on DVDs.

Not literally dead, just no longer interested in Lego or animation.

Re: "Brick to Brick" A Brickfilm Review "Podcast" (Episode 2 now out!)

Well, I see where you were going there, but if we did that, unless the person struck the play button in exact sync with the tone, the whole film would have an echo in the sound when the person listened to it.

Re: "Brick to Brick" A Brickfilm Review "Podcast" (Episode 2 now out!)

no, i mean, you put the audio from the film on top in audacity or something.

I didn't actually watch the film; I listened to the podcast while I was doing masking and editing. I understand that you want people to watch the film during the podcast, but not everyone does. I actually found it confusing at times, because you didn't mention which scene you were on. I think that adding the audio from the film in the background is definitely a good idea. mini/smile
