Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

How do you make effects like?

I opened it in GIMP...

STOP QUOTING IMAGES >:-(

The effect just looks a bit placed on. If you made a movie with that, it would look absolutely terrible. Don't forget, you need to remember that these frames are meant to look like they're taken from finished movies.

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

Results?

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

7 entries. Weird. That's exactly the amount of entries I got last time I judged. mini/eek
Anyway, ballots closed. Since I'm not going to to be around tomorrow, I'll judge right now.
Very nice entries this round, guys. mini/smile
Results coming very soon...

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

I think next time I'm going to enter, too.
I really like this whole idea of the challenge. But before I really had no time for it...

You live in Germany? Where?

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

Whoa, you too. That's cool!

Hab gerade erst gemerkt, dass du auch aus Deutschland kommst! mini/bigsmile
Ich wohne in NRW - also recht weit weg von Berlin mini/wink

Y'know, I never thought that I'd have to tell Night Owl to get back on topic.

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

Relax. This is like the Simpsons episode where Milhouse discovers another Milhouse.

I'm actually American, though my dad is from Essen, in the aforementioned NRW.

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

Ah, ok.
But you speak German, don't you?

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

Oops, sorry guys.

Here's the results finally, couldn't finish them in time last night.

1. NightOwl
Very nice, this deserves number one. It's very artistic, and it looks like something I would see in a David Lynch movie.
2. Hazzat
Crisp-clear image quality, nice shot. Also, I get the "in joke". mini/mrgreen
3. Jimmybob
Awesomely creepy. But a bit too creepy. mini/mrgreen
Effects you did on the shot fit well, overall nice shot.
4. Randomparrot
Nice shot, framing is nice, you get the feeling she's just not into him.
I could see it in a movie.
5. Aaron #2
I like this one, it's a lot more up close and romantic, the effect you chose goes well with everything, though the background doesn't look that lego-like which concerns me. It's an ok shot.
6. Fillip
I like it, but I'm not sure what's happening, also the white expanse needs work too.
7. Aaron #1
As I said, it's not the greatest frame, the lighting isn't very good, the set isn't illuminated enough if you wanted it to look like it was day time. Also half of your frame is just the road, the camera should really be straight and looking at the minifigs.

Awesome work, guys. Even though there were not that many frames which I am sad of, I think all of you made very awesome shots.
Pick an awesome theme for us, NightOwl. mini/smile

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

Thanks. I'll take some time to think up a new theme. I even might want to change the rules a bit, we'll see.
