And yes you need a firewire to connect a PV-GS 320 to any computer.

Re: Panasonic PV-GS320 help

I use the same computer, and I wanted to get that camera. It's not available in the UK though, so I got a Canon MD205, which is great, except focusing can only be done with touching the camera, something I need to ask Canon about. But I use it with a 4pin to 800 firewire cable, which I brought for under a fiver. The only problem is is that you need to plug it in, THEN TURN ON THE CAMERA. If you plug it in while on, you can break it (thats what happened to our camera at animation club). Same when un-pluging it, turn it off, then unplug it.
My camera is different, but I think that it should still work with a MBP and istopmotion.

Re: Panasonic PV-GS320 help

thank you guys i got my cord and it works so could someone (administrator) close this mini/confused  mini/tongue mini/dizzy

Re: Panasonic PV-GS320 help

One thing before this is closed, as someone that owns a PV-GS400 I must warn you of something. Be careful not to put stress on the firewire port on your camcorder, somehow I broke mine.
