It's not really a curse, although it is an insult. It's used often in the Harry Potter books and films too. But I guess that's just my opinion.

Why are we asking about if we're aloud to use these words? It's not like your going to actually say them to someone in a family-friendly community, unless you were asking to use it in your film. If you have the slightest idea it may offend someone, don't say it.
