Vimeo, like Youtube, is in the clutches of the music industry. By comparison, my Apologize video was caught by Vimeo and taken down. It's still playing on Youtube, though.
I think the only safe haven is archive.org because it's not as popular as these video-oriented sites, ergo not as thoroughly policed.
What are your guy's thoughts on Box4Box, I have noticed some are for it, while others are all the way against it. Any thoughts?

I don't see too much of a problem with Box4Box, as I do it only with people whose films I actually like. If I like the films, then I ask if they would like to do Box4Box, and because by that time they know me, they usually accept.

I think Box4Box is silly. Putting someone in you're Box is promoting them, saying they are good. A lot of people put 'Awesome animators here' and then people Box4Box, when really they might not be your personal choice of an 'awesome' animator. If you are going to do it, simply put 'Box4Box', so people know you are doing it for that reason.

This is true. If you are going to subscribe to someone, you like there videos, if you are gonna box someone, you like there videos. Not doing it for a favor, or for a trade.

Way ahead of you. I always usually upload the videos back-to-back just in case, although sometimes I release a different cut (my THAC 7 upload is the censored version sent to the judges, and I plan to release an alternate version of Pirate Pirate 2 there with copyrighted music - whilst the YouTube version will have original music). But, I agree that soon Vimeo will find my videos. And YouTube is WAY better in terms of audience and feedback.

DWStorm, Um, that is what I just said....... I guess my version of Box4Box is different then the usual, what I mean is that if I like someones brickfilms, and they like mine and we have known each other for a while, THEN I ask them. I don't go around posting Box4Box comments on channels.

hey, I have a question, about the youtube. Can you get partnered with youtube (like to get those banner things, etc.) if you use copyrighted music in some of your videos??? Because Gareth Pugh used star wars music in the early Squad 42, and Fancypants used 'Thriller'. So, Does this even affect the possibility for partnership?
PS- Oddly enough, the only copyrighted music I've used on my channel is Star wras and Michel Jackson, same as those two people above. I don't know if this affects anything, does it?...
Yes you can become a partner (as long as you haven't had too many videos taken down as a result), but you can't make money from those videos once you have gained your partnership.

Well, I went and updated my YouTube channel. I had some (a lot) of free time today, so I chose to do this for a few minutes to fend off boredom while I brainstorm something to do.
