Topic: CyberLink PowerDirector 9 Deluxe- or sony vegas

I'm thinking of asking for this for my birthday in april and was wondering if anyone else had used it or heard anything about it. I need a better editor (currently using video spin) and cannot afford the best programs like after effects or sony vegas. PowerDirecter 9 is only $50 and looks spectacular according to this chart. It looks kind of like a no-brainer to me.

Edit: I'll download the trial and let you know what I think... that will probably be best mini/smile

yeah the dumb download was at 98% when my internet crashed or something so I had to restart it mini/rolleyes its almost done now mini/smile

I use PowerDirector8 and I love it! Has a lot of features. PowerDirector9 is probably even better.

First off that website is slightly out of date. I know for a fact that some of the information on there is point blank wrong. The chart is wrong I have some of those software and the things it says about the other software was correct a few years ago. I would suggest getting Vegas Movie Studio HD. It cost about $45 dollars and is a beast of an editing software for the price. Get the free 30 day trail. It will give you the full software for thirty days with know limitations and you can decide if you like it. I used to use the older version of HD and it was great but then I bought the Platinum version of it and It was better. If you can save up the $95 and get it you will not regret it. I love the Sony Vegas Family of Editing software so much that when I had the money for any Editing Software I wanted I choose Sony Vegas Pro. My opinion, Sony gives you the most bang for your money.

thank you aquamorph. I liked powerdirector ok up untill it started crashing mini/confused I didn't realize there was version of vegas that cheep, so i will look into it mini/smile

Sony Vegas is quite good, it has some features I was really suprised to get when I bought it. Some of the features such as, 3 wheel color correction are really useful.

That is a great feature it makes color correcting very easy.

right now I trying out the $50 version of vegas (I'll use it to edit my next video) so far I am very pleased with it. my main concern is that it just seems a bit outdated. thats why I'm going to test the "platinum 10" version after the 30 days is up because it might be worth the extra 30 bucks.

I think it is well worth it. If you need more time to save up to buy it you can also get a 30-day trial of Sony Vegas Pro.

well i wont be doing any saving up cause im asking for it for my birthday. my dad will probably decide which version to get me. i can probably convince him to get the platinum version or whatever
