Just to make sure you understand something: the only tech stuff punk have is the guitar and bass, because they didn't even had the money to afford to something more advanced. The sound you hear is the normal sound of a guitar or a bass. And in any other punk song I know, old or new, there are no effects added to the instruments. No high tech stuff. And also metal doesn't have many effects added. In most songs I heard there are none.

Tech punk? I didn't even know that was a genre, I thought punk was just the 'pop-rock punk' stuff like Blink 182 and Green day, or Punk Rock stuff like The Clash and the Sex Pistols.

Daft Punk rules. Even people who don't like the new Tron tend to complement the soundtrack.
