I've seen so many topics on Mac this mac that.
Weather its a camera choice or software look here.
The Quickcam Pro 9000 Is not compatible with Mac

An old but widely used webcam for stopmotion is the quickcam 4000 everything the 9000 is except quality (becase its quite old).
As for software there is no MonkeyJam but there is \IstopMotion a program which is widely used for professionals and home users. They have a wide variety of options which are compatible with almost every camera.
If money is an issue visit the free software list and scroll to the Mac section.

A better quality alternative to the Quickcam 4000 and stil compatible with nearly every frame capture program are Video Cameras.

Another one is the Canon HV Lineup one that supports HD capture The HV30 can be see Here

Software
Editing on the Mac is great not to sound bias in here or favor an OS but there are equivalents to WMM (Windows Movie Maker) and Vegas.
Every Mac is preinstalled with Ilife wich includes Imovie a good starter for editing your videos and its free.
Not to harcore but enough to get one started.
Deeper editing can be found in Final Cut Express and Studio.
Also all adobe products are compatible with Mac.

its useless for brickfilming purposes since it doesnt have any manual features.

I've recently got a mac, so I know my QCP 9000 won't work on it. But will it work with bootcamp, because I plan to buy Stop motion pro HD and use that.
But I am quite interested in the Panasonic PV-GS320, but can't really find anywhere which sells it (I mean in England, not America).
Anyone know any places which sell it for under £200?

Just thought I'd share this with you guys, I recently got a camcorder for my macbook pro. Its a Canon MD205, its quite old, but I've used it before at animation club with an old Imac. It works brilliantly with a 4pin to 800 firewire cable, which can be brought for under a fiver. I think it has manual focus, I just need to find how to access it in Istopmotion. Its got good quality, I know this because I used it loads at animation club before it broke. Thats the only problem with it, it will break if you plug it in to your computer while on. You have to plug it in then turn on the camera. Same with once you've finished with it, you turn the camera off then unplug it, otherwise you can break it, the BBC apparently lost 3 cameras through this.

But yeah, I just thought I'd share this, so if there's still people wondering what camera to get, an old camcorder is a great way to get a good, cheap camera. And its widescreen, all for £50. You just need a mac with a firewire port.

And I have another question for you guys. The mac app store recently opened, and theres a HD converter on it for £30. Its called Turbo.264 HD video converter, I was just wondering If I'd be able to convert my films to HD using it, even if there not captured in HD. Or does it not work like that?

The camera doesn't have any manual controls, but it's always been fine when I used it at AC. I think it'll still be okay to use. Does anyone know where to buy the camera Fancypants uses in the UK, I'd get that if I could.

it doesn't work like that the video has to initially be captured in HD
Also in Istopmomtion home and express the size and therefore quality are shrunk

well, actually it's a mac version
it isn't useless for brickfilm, just cuz it has no manual features, you can trick it into fixating on something by moving it into the second of it's feild of view, then you can move it all you want!!!!:D mini/bigsmile mini/bigsmile
i use iStopmotion for recording, and FCE4 for editing, is that good?, it works for me, but i just want to know if there is something better i should use.

Edited my post, the MD205 doesn't have any manual controls (I'm still looking though). It will still work okay though, it always did at AC, but I still want to get thePanasonic PV-GS320, but I can't find a UK seller. Anyone got any ideas?

wow! Can you descibe in detail how you do that? Im a mac user and want to use a mac version qcp9000 - have you shot any films with it? and is it not too awkward?
