Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Home Alone
For the strangest reason, I like the second one better.

Tangled
I saw it with my sister. Perhaps Disney should put the songs in the ratings because I wanted to walk out of there, Not my type of movie by far.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Pee-Wee's big adventure
It was my dad's favorite movie when he was young, I didn't like it very much.

Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs
It was pretty good. It didn't blow me away, but it was entertaining

Oliver Twist (2005)

Incredibly well done movie. Ben Kingsley is AMAZING. Roman Polanski is definitely the perfect pic for something like this, since his background is sadly similar.

7/10

TRON: Legacy

Visually stunning, story is perfect for the sequel, Jeff Bridges is amazing as two people, soundtrack by Daft Punk is PERFECT, and all around an extremely fun time. You can see it in 3D if you want, I did, it was great. Something tells me it's just as good 2D though.

9/10

Muppet's Christmas Carol

Still love this movie after having it played a few hundred times through out my childhood. Michael Caine does a pretty great job, great actor.
And muppets are always great. mini/bigsmile

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

A Christmas Story

I swear I've seen this movie over a hundred times over the years because of the 24 hour marathon that goes on TV every Christmas eve/day. We have the movie on DVD but never watch it. I'd say I watched A Christmas Story 6 times this marathon.

Inception

Fun movie, but overrated as heck. I did not think this was the best movie ever, nor the best movie of the year. True Grit FTW.

Toy Story 3
Better than I expected.

True Grit (2010)

Excellent, though I'm surprised by how straightforward the storytelling was for the Coen Brothers (not necessarily a bad thing). Jeff Bridges and Hailee Steinfeld in particular were great. If there's one complaint I have, it's that the conclusion wraps itself up too quickly, but otherwise, an very good classical western.

Gladiator

Watching it again, the film really works better as a sheer visual spectacle than as a piece of storytelling. But on that merit alone, it's quite remarkable and very entertaining.

George C. Scott's A Christmas Carol

Really good, I have a feeling it was incredibly close to the book. And I loved the acting by George C. Scott, he gave Scrooge a great realism.

4/5 as a Christmas movie
3/5 as a movie

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

The sound of music

Absolutely the best Christmas movie of all time. No debate.

Cannibal! The Musical
Hilarious. I loved the "American Indians", and how it took Alferd four goes to kill the catholic dude. Comic genius.

Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla
Loved it.

Lady Snowblood Vol. 1
Amazing.

I've been watching It's a Wonderful Life as well. I think its great.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

The Parent Trap

Young Lindsay Lohan as the star of this makes every scene a punchline. The rest of the movie is OK-ish though. It takes place in that wonderful world where re-uniting Divorced parents is possible....

Shaft (2000)
Good fun. Would have been awful without Samuel L Jackson, though.
I loved all the stuff he says, like "It's my duty to please that booty", although I assume a lot of these were in the original. I was kinda disappointed that the last line of the film wasn't "Can you dig it?", but meh.
Overall it was pretty enjoyable.
