In order to make a dent you should just take away bricks where a minifigure hits it, while having another wall behind it so it doesn't look like it went the whole way through, it's just a dent. For me, I had three walls in a row.

That guy is incredible. 
I need to improve my animation. NOW! But I'm still not goin' away from 15fps.
EDIT: AND he used Metroid music in one of his films. That makes him even more awesome.
