I've never heard of him, now I wish I had
.
And in my opinion, The Empire Strikes Back was the best. Except when Luke starts to cry like a baby (c'mon, man up Luke).
He directed one of my favorite movies 'Eyes of Laura Mars'.

Man, I love'd Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. I have also watch'd the documentary, too.
R.I.P Irvin Kershner.

However humorous this image is, sadness is very present.
Thank you for one of the greatest Science Fiction/Fantasy movies ever made. Your legacy will not be forgotten.
RIP
I was just watching a documentary about the making of The Empire Strikes Back right before I saw this thread and found out he died. D:

Late reaction is late. He died on November 27th of this year.
RIP nonetheless.
how mature, Smeagol.
R.I.P. Irvin Kershner
I'd just like to point out that that was in reference to the lateness of this thread. I could be wrong but I thought we talked about this in Café Corner when it happened.
Anyway I'm obviously a fan of ESB, I haven't seen any of Kershner's other work. He was quite old though, I remember being surprised he was still alive when they made the commentaries for the DVD release a few years back.
I always enjoyed interviews which starred Irvin Kershner they were rather inspirational.
