Is there a difference between the webcam 9000 and the quickcam 9000? And if yes which is better?

actually- i researched the quickcam pro 9000 cuz i wanted it for my birthday- and i got the webcam pro 9000. they're basically the same- but the webcam does not have all the cool effects.

You've been told why before, and that it's a software thing, involving your computer, not the install disk.

Re: Is there a difference between the webcam 9000 and the quickcam 9000?

Wrong.

They do have one fatal difference, in the Webcam (which I have), the RightLight setting is HARDWARE whereas it's SOFTWARE in the quickcam.

This means that for some reason, once you turn it on in the Webcam it stays on until you uninstall it, even if you turn it off in the settings.

It's an error that's been acknowleged by Logitech themselves so it's not just me being an idiot as usual.

Which is better and which has that right light problem?

Apparently, he's talking about the Mac version. If you can, I strongly recomend the PC version. And if you can find some older software for it, all the better. In the updated Quickcam software, you cannot change the white balance, so you have to do it in MonkeyJam (if that's the frame capture you use). But yeah, PC's better.

No, I mean the PC one, trust me I bought it.

Re: Is there a difference between the webcam 9000 and the quickcam 9000?

That's strange, I have the PC version, and it works just swell! It doesn't have that problem. Maybe the US version is different?

Re: Is there a difference between the webcam 9000 and the quickcam 9000?

Hm, maybe...

I'm not sure...

Re: Is there a difference between the webcam 9000 and the quickcam 9000?

Why would there be a US version and a European version? Are computers subject to the NTSC/PAL difference as well, because I would not think so.

Re: Is there a difference between the webcam 9000 and the quickcam 9000?

I'm just suggesting things that might be the cause to this conundrum.

So the right light doesn't fully turn off until you restart your computer
