Look what I found out about the dear old Platypus today:

The platypus, long thought a strange creature, just got stranger when researchers discovered that it has 10 sex chromosomes, some of them linked to mammals and some to birds.

I was actually thinking of becoming a vet at one point, so I like all animals, but if I had to chose a few favorites..

I really don't feel like explaining. Basically the government took some Canadian Timber wolves (from Canada) and introduced them to Yellowstone area and central to northern Idaho. They multiplied by the thousands, killed off the wolves that originally lived there, and started feeding on local livestock, sheep, and the wildlife. The wildlife population has dropped a lot since the wolves were "reintroduced". When you mess with mother nature bad things start to happen. Ah, I guess I don't have anything against the wolves personally, they're just going off of basic instinct.

If they were Canadian where else would they be from?

Yeah, but before the elk were too numerous and decimated plantlife. You're damned if you do, damned if you don't.
There is only one Animal.

Actually we here in Idaho have never had a problem like that. I mean, we seriously haven't. The Idaho Fish and Game has always kept their eye on hunting and stuff to keep the balance just right. Maybe you're talking about Montana, Oregon or Wyoming. You do have a point though, too bad it isn't valid for our situation.
EDIT: Dang, I promised myself I wasn't going to get into a discussion about this. Plus it's pretty off-topic. It would be nice to talk about it in chat though.
