I have a quick question. I love to make brickfilms, and I'm proud of some of my work. But I don't have much lego, I only have about 1000 pieces, and it's not enough to make a detailed set. And I don't want to film on just a baseplate, beacause people would say I copied NXTManiac. What should I do?

Thats no excuse. Using just a baseplate is a style of art, not NXTManiac's trademark.
If you really want to buy more pieces, check eBay or BrickLink to buy lots on the cheap. Make sure you can verify their source. One member on this site bought a great amount of bricks for cheap. When they arrived they all smelled like cigarettes and/or weed. So be careful.
If you have access to a Lego store near you, you can get lots of specialized bricks and large elements in bulk and at a discount via Pick-a-Brick cups. I just went to the one in the Mall of America and got enough shrubbery to build a jungle for only $15.

Garage sales are also great for finding LEGO bricks. I have found sets that are 30-40 years old!

I think he is referring to The Desktop...
Work with what you've got, if you've only got one baseplate, then only use one baseplate. Just don't make it about a poor man's adventures on a tabletop.
