Well, 8/9 january is too late for me...I'llbe already back to school.
I'd prefer the December dates. It makes more sense seeing as school would have ended but adults would still be at work on both the December and January dates.
I think I misspoke, we've always had it as a Friday/Saturday not Saturday/Sunday. So I guess what I should have said was December 18th/19th or January 7th/8th. Though moving it to Saturday/Sunday would be alright with me, it's always been an unpopular suggestion when we've voted on it in the past.
It does matter for me, I have school on saturday. Yep, 6 days a week.
If it's Friday/Saturday, it would be December 17/18, not 19. I like the idea of Saturday and Sunday better, the less interferance with school the better.
Adults frequently don't have "winter break" though and it depends very much on a given school system, anyway.
I'd be pretty reluctant to make it a Sunday/Monday schedule for a number of reasons but I'm not decided when we should hold it, either.
Would December 18th and 19th be alright for people? That is what I'm favoring right now. I'd still be on break for a few weeks thereafter, so it might even mean I could get the judging organized in a timely manner that way.

January will be good for me, as I'll be most likely unable to animate in December.
I would rather have it in December. Its nice to do something like this around the holidays
I go back the 5th. So the 3rd/4th would work great for me
ugghhh- i know what this thread is, but i keep thinking it's the THAC 8 and i get really excited, no matter how many times i've seen it before. lol 
December definitely. January would be right after school begins again.
I'd prefer a Friday/Saturday event, my parents would be extremely unhappy with me if I slept during the church service.
I would prefer the December date for this, but either is fine with me as long as this happens. I really want to get back into brickfilming.
December. Sure, I wont have my new camera and Lego, but the January is not possible for me.
I'm sure people will be able to create nice Christmas themed THAC entries to get us in a nice warm mood....and annoy the judges when they have to spend New Years Day judging all 100+ of them

We're figuring out a contest sponsor right now; once we have that we'll make an announcement (hopefully by Dec. 1st). NXTManiac will be running the contest, not me, since I'm already working to get BiM 2011 together and I might want to enter THAC 8.
Right now I think December 18th/19th looks like the best compromise. Too early for some, but January 8/9 is too late for many, and the other options would be Christmas Day and New Year's, so they don't work.
I misspoke when I said 17/18, THAC has, as far as I know, always been on a Saturday/Sunday.
