Topic: Logitech Quickcam vs. Logitech Webcam

Hey everyone, Im Chris W., and Im new here, and I am needing a new camera, cuz the one i have is TERRIBLE!!! Its the HP 2100 Webcam, the focus stinks, and the lens is too high off the ground, so ground shots will be impossible. I'm wanting the Logitech Quickcam Pro 9000, but I can only find the Webcam Pro 9000. Which one should I buy? And which one costs more? Thanks!:)

Re: Logitech Quickcam vs. Logitech Webcam

Logitech renamed the Quickcam some time ago. They're the same product.

Yeah, I went on Ebay, and the description said Quickcam, but the box said Webcam.

Re: Logitech Quickcam vs. Logitech Webcam

They have a very big difference actually...

They have a feature called "RightLight".

In the Quickcam, it's just software, but in the Webcam it's Hardware, and because of that if you ever activate RightLight on the Webcam you have to uninstall/reinstall it to properly turn off.

For some reason it stays on even if you turn it off in the settings.

Re: Logitech Quickcam vs. Logitech Webcam

quickcam has all the fun effects you can do with your face. the webcam does not, how do i know this?
i researched the quickcam before my birthday and found out all about it. then i got the webcam for my b-day. i was... well... devastated. but it works fine for animating!

Re: Logitech Quickcam vs. Logitech Webcam

I got all the effects, you probably got the old software.

You can probably download the new one off of the site.

Re: Logitech Quickcam vs. Logitech Webcam

I wouldn't recommend upgrading, the new software doesn't carry the white balance option, so your image is always yellow.

Re: Logitech Quickcam vs. Logitech Webcam

In my second post about Ebay, I didn't actually get the Quickcam, I think you thought I actually bought it from Ebay.

This can be fixed in post-production, I thought someone with After Effects would have known that you can just apply colour correction.

welp

Thanks everyone for your replies! I'm hopefully going to upload a film soon, and you can see how bad the focus was with my bad camera.

Yes, but it doesn't look authentic.
