Re: A Brickfilm Anthology

Tripod here...

The first post has been updated with our writing and animation groups thus far. For the sake of making sure everyone gets the message, I'm going to repost here what I said in the first post:

Because there's no bulk PM system on the forums, I'd like to use this thread to discuss strictly the writing process. Animation will be a more complex thing to coordinate, and i'd like to do that in the Production section of the forum when most of the writing is ready for animation. If you have any questions or thoughts regarding your story ideas and plot, you should post it here so we won't cross similar storytelling points. I think it's possible to get notifications on comments in a thread, but I may be wrong. Either way, you should keep an eye on this thread. Good luck, everyone! Remember the boundaries!

For example, I'm going to go ahead and post what my story contribution is for the concept.

Closure

Setting: An American town, 1980's

Plot: A senior high schooler is attempting to find closure to a complicated relationship that was never "official". After a failed attempt to discuss what their "relationship" meant, he begins to go over a couple pivotal moments during their time together, looking for an answer. The following day, her car is found crushed on the side of a road, but she is missing. The young man goes to ask some officers what happened, they give him little detail, as he is not considered someone valid to detail all info to. They simply tell him what happened, and when they think it occurred. At home, the young man's mother informs him that she (the girl) left him a message the night before at a certain time. The young man realizes that this doesn't line up to the suspected time the officers told him. He listens to the message, and she can't explain where she is right then, but that she probably won't see him again. She simply says he was right about her importance, and she tells him (this is all referring to a flashback) that he'll be important one day as well. The message ends.

Can't wait to hear what everyone else has in mind!

Re: A Brickfilm Anthology

Also, it has been decided by me and Tripod, that the writer will be able to choose the animator.

Of course, I wouldn't suggest we start choosing right now, at least not until we have a full list of writers and animators.

Re: A Brickfilm Anthology

I hate to BUMP a thread, but I think we should start getting this project into phase two. If it's dead, please excuse this post, but if not we need to start assigning jobs to certain people. I think that we just about have our group and we need to get started. mini/smile But no rush mini/wink

We posted our current lists of teams on the main post. The thing about this project is that everyone has different times for availability. The general consensus I've noticed is that no one can animate until early 2011. So, the last month, writers who said they were interested should've been working on their story. If you're writing and animating, by all means, work at your own pace.

Around the beginning of the new year, we'll create a new thread in the "Production" section of the message boards for those who are ready to kick off actually making the shorts.

However, for those who are only writing or animating, not both, we do need to get those teams set up. I'll try PMing and ask who would like to work with who. Remember, it needs to be someone you can 1. Keep in contact with. 2. be respectful of as much as yourself. 3. mutually agree with decisions on. These groupings need to be efficient if we are to get this off the ground.

Back with more info soon.
