Topic: animating a turning head

I have this problem that whenever I try to animate a turning head, I have to redo it several times because the rest of the minifig is moving too much.  Do any of you guys have any suggestions for animating a turning head?

thanks

Yeah I have that problem from time to time. Make sure the rest of the body is securely placed on the floor and perhaps try to loosen the head a bit so it is less stiff to turn, but this may involve defacing the mini fig. mini/sweat

Remember to always hold on to the body while truning it, That helps alot mini/smile

Re: animating a turning head

Get a knife or one blade from a pair of scissors and file down the inside of the head. It works a treat.

If you're only showing the top half of the minifig, you can replace its legs with a 1x2 brick and two (I think) 1x2 plates. I used both these techniques for the scientist's head shake at 0:17 in Swine Flu and it turned out a lot nicer.

Re: animating a turning head

Scrape that little bit of paint off the front of the neck stump.
I find that works quite well.

If you have onion skinning, try your hardest to get it exactly back. Seems to work for meh mini/smile

Re: animating a turning head

use an old head (so it is looser and easier and you won't risk jiggling the minifig) mini/lol
