Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Treevenge (Short Film by Jason Eisner)

This was really weird. For the first ten minutes or so I was loving it, and then it got surprisingly confronting. Then you remember that they're  Christmas trees, and you find it funny again for a short while. Then something really grotesque and brutal happens (the couple being pulled together by the tree branches was just !@#$. And the baby head splatter was also fairly !@#$, too.]) and it gets confronting again. The shot of the guy getting raped by the tree ]was kinda funny, I must admit, as was the guy with the shotgun. It was still pretty damn enjoyable for the most part ("You'll never take me alive!"), with some pretty funny bits, especially the way the people act towards the trees. It was so over the top. Everything was so over the top. The violence was so extreme because, when it's performed by Christmas trees, it's funny.
The music was good, too.
There was some obvious influence from The Evil Dead, and also some Lucio Fulci style stuff in there, too.
I am really really looking forward to Hobo with a Shotgun, btw.

And I am now scared of Christmas trees.

Cleo from 5 to 7

Pretty good, if not a little slow. Very solemn and existential look at life and death.

House of Wax

Just as bad as I was expecting, but at least the film never seemed to take itself too seriously.

Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood

Ridiculous and stupid, sure, but at least it never loses sight of what it's supposed to be parodying (which is a lot more than what can be said about the Friedberg/Seltzer generation of spoof films).

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Rosemary's Baby
HAIL SATAN.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

I just watched Treevenge after reading Danimation's post.

I haven't laughed so much in ages.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Kinzcove should watch it.

Oh silly Franklin.

The Amityville Horror
Eh, okay.

Hostel

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

The Salton Sea

Meh, it was ok, I was kinda confused how they were trying to reach the audience, maybe one of Val Kilmers better roles.

2,5/5

The Skeleton Key

meh...

2/5

Machete

second view, I watched it with friends and it was really fun this time, I could look at it way less critical this time and have a hell of a fun.
Story was messy but all the badass gore, action moments and characters is what it makes so great.

Machete don't text...

Eh. Pretty bad.

Also, I'm seeing The Loved Ones, then Machete, then Jackass 3D all in a row with my friends on the weekend. Should be fun.

The Virgin Suicides
Woah, loved it.

The Bird with the Crystal Plumage
Argento's debut film, and it is so awesome. "Bring out the perverts!"

Don't Be Afraid of the Dark
Such an awesome made-for-TV horror movie.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

The Big Lebowski

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Inception
Well, I started watching it following NightOwls advice ("not as clever as everyone was saying")...and...well...it was great. The no gravity scenes were just awesome, maybe worth seeing the whole movie twice just for those scenes. It's not a perfect movie, but definitely worth watching. At least twice. 8.5/10

The Cube
Effects sucks, acting at times wasn't convincing to me, but nevertheless interesting movie. I liked it, and considering it was made in the '90 with "not so high budget", I don't expect amazing effects. I liked it. 7/10

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

The Bourne Trilogy (1,2,3)

What a ride. These are definitely by far the best films this decade, boy have I been missing out. And I really don't know which one is my favorite, they all so great and perfect in there own way. Story, action, acting, all extremely well done and put together. Matt Damon is pro. And I have to say, Ultimatum is the best third film in a trilogy, EVER MADE. I have never ever seen a really good third film, so this one I'd say is the best.

Actually, making another one would TOTALLY ruin the whole thing. It's amazing how it is, and another one would just send it towards the dumps.

Um..... I don't get what you mean? Are you talking about the author change or something else?

No, I'm talking about the whole plot of the film, the idea of a trilogy, and the fact that it would just mess up the whole feel of the movies.
