Topic: Septemberfest 2010 Results
THE RESULTS ARE IN!
First, a huge thanks to BrickScope for sponsoring Septemberfest 2010! We couldn't have done it without the massive support from Zoe at Brickscope by way of providing some terrific prizes for our worthy winners.
Also, thankyou to everyone who entered Septemberfest 2010. I would say it has been a success and I hope next year it will only get bigger and better with more entries! The overall quality of entries were spread right across the spectrum, and they can be seen here.
Without further ado, the winners as decided by the panel of judges (Myself, Philip (Smeagol) and Zach (MindGame)) are as follows:
Third place: Small World by goldencamerastudios with an average score of 76%
Right from the beginning Small World struts its stuff with enjoyable music, creative sets, nice animation and some comedy. The visual effects got shaky at times but all in all Small World is an adorable film and pretty well-executed.
For his efforts goldencamerastudios will receive a $30 gift certificate at BrickScope as well as the following certificate!
Second Place: The Magician's Hat by Filmfire96 with an average score of 77%
When watching The Magicians' Hat viewers will immediately notice good use of real water drops for a rain effect. The concept was simple and sweet. Accompanied by some very decent technical aspects The Magicians' Hat was a great entry.
For his efforts Filmfire96 will receive a very nice $50 gift certificate at BrickScope as well as the following certificate!
First Place: Bakey A Cakey by EmmaExecute with an average score of 81%
Bakey A Cakey was great fun to watch. The set design was very impressive as were all the technical qualities including lighting and sound. It has a nice comedic, self contained story and if the judges have one complaint, it's that the conflict wraps itself up too quickly risking leaving viewers confused. All in all however this was one of the most well rounded entries and is quite deserving of first place! Congratulations EmmaExecute!
For her efforts EmmaExecute will receive a whopping $70 gift certificate at BrickScope as well as the following certificate!
And that wraps up Septemberfest for 2010! See you all next year!
Sean out.
