Re: The Video Game Discussion Topic!
Oh. Well, I don't really like Final Fantasy, it just keeps on going and going, when will Final Fantasy finally be final?

So guys, should I buy Minecraft?
Yes
I never really understood Minecraft, would someone be so kind as to enlighten me?
I just looked it up on youtube and I'm already fascinated by it. I suggest you do the same.

Not really *cough*, um, allowed...
You aren't allowed to use YouTube but you are allowed to use an internet forum? ![]()

Minecraft is awesome, I got weary of the singleplayer after a week or so, but the multiplayer is really awesome. It's cool finding a good community and seeing how the world progresses over the weeks.
You should definitely get it, it only costs like $14, which is a little over what you'd pay for a movie ticket.

I can use this forum because the basis of it is LEGO, whereas there's a bunch of stuff on Youtube that could have a bad influence on me...
...It's weird, I know. Especially since I am allowed to go on Vimeo. The only thing on this site I'm not allowed to go on is the chat.

Yeah i agree the multiplayer is awesome (despite the fact it doesn't work properly yet).
I play on a private server some people set up, and it has absolutely amazing structures on it, some of which i made and help to make. Someone even set up a programme to take aerial shots of our map every hour.
It really is the best £9 i ever spent.
I agree. I just bought it and I'm hooked. I don't really do multiplayer though because of the IP adress thingy, and I don't know anyone's.
I started off in single player with some zombies killing me when I fell down my mine shaft.
It was awesome.

Anyone else play Halo Reach?
Ever tried forge world? Amazing. Esp. since I'm studying architecture.
Forge World isn't that amazing. It's certainly a large improvement from Halo 3's sandbox offerings (mainly due to the improvements to Forge), but it can't touch some of the other level editors out there.
Eh, the only game I can even contribute the slightest attention span towards is ROCK BAND 3.
Reason #1- Keyboards, this has opened the pathway for more late '70s/early '80s goodness. INXS, ECHO & THE BUNNYMEN, TEARS FOR FEARS. I'm in for the keyboards, that's great and all, but my new wave craving from that time period may finally be filled.
Reason #2- Pro Mode, so now it can be like the good 'ol days, working your way up from easy to expert, but this time, playing the real notes. Genius I say, genius!
Reason #3- Vocal Harmonies. The Beatles already did it, but now the core series supports it, yes!
Reason #4- The Setlist, As I mentioned earlier, the setlist is pretty awesome this go 'round. Past my adoration of '80s new wave. There's just some great obscure choices in there. Huzzah for THE FLAMING LIPS!
Reason #5- All of the game's 2000 songs are forward compatible. Righteous.

I've played it at a friend's house, and it's pretty much just a mindless shooting game. Just run around and shoot monsters and that's it. Nothing special.
See: 90% of all video games today.
But I can understand a lack of interest in Reach; I'm pretty much Halo'd out at this point (plus, I hear it's not that great, anyways).
Okay... its just that that was my first experience with a shooter-game, and just by listening to my friends, I really like the story plot, I love the "openness" of it compared to my other games (the ability to do pretty much whatever you want) and ForgeWorld, because being interested in a career in architecture, all sorts of cool ideas came to my mind when I started building in Forge World.
And also being a huge lover of James Cameron's AVATAR, i thought the Falcon from Halo was really similar to the scorpion gunships in AVATAR. The first thing I said while riding it (my friend piloting) was "WOW, this is just like AVATAR!!! Its soo cooolll!!! " Really realistic too. Really.
I understand most of you are as MindGame said "halo'd out," but for my first time playing such a game, it was awesome.
