The Rules of the Game

Hilarious and wonderfully entertaining, yet also biting in its satire of French bourgeoisie culture. Renoir's direction is excellent, which perfectly blends comedic farce with despairing reality.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Frankenstein (1931)

Great stuff. To nitpick would be incredibly unfair considering its age, so I'm just going to say that if you ever get a chance to watch it, please do.

Resident Evil: Afterlife
Hells yeah. This movie god]damn rocked.
The trailers were pretty awesome, too (the standout being Jackass 3D, which looks like a lot of fun). Skyline and Tron Legacy look rather epic.

Really? I've seen two Resident Evil movies and both times I thought they were utter peices of S***. I notice a lot of people like them though. I really dislike the CGI and stuff, but that's just me.
I've seen...
Master of the Flying Guillotine
Super Kick-Ass Kung Fu action, loved it.

I Am Legend

Meh...

It wasn't scary the first time, it was utter crap the second time.

HOW did people find this scary? Seriously, Sunshine was a scarier move.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

I was really disappointed by that one too. It really needed a good helping of plot.

Back To The Future

Classic mini/smile

The Terror
thought it was fun, even with it's !@#$ making, but the whole story behind it and it's cast makes it great

Never Take Candy from a Stranger
Title says it all. This film is like, woah. When it comes to films I've seen about pedos, this has
to be one of the greats. The suspense had me on the edge of my couch, especially for the ending.
This film was just... fantastic.

Also, I've been watching seasons of Psych (which is way better than The Mentalist) on Netflix.

Spiderman
This is the first time I've seen this film. I'm surprised at how well I did Peter Parker's voice in my Shpiderman shorts. mini/lol

Yeah, it's pretty trashy stuff. Me, my sister and my dad kinda dig it for some reason, though. And I prefer real special effects to CGI any day.
Which leads me too...

The Thing
Wow. This was brilliant. Everything about it was awesome, but the special effects were just amazing. I love watching stuff like that.
Need to see more John Carpender stuff...

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

A Clockwork Orange
Disturbingly fantastic.

John Carpenter probably is my favourite horror director. On fb I forgot to mention I saw 'Vampires' too, but I didn't think it was that good. But you must check out 'They Live' and 'Big Trouble in Little China', and of course, Halloween.

Shurayukihime AKA Lady Snowblood
I'm surprised this movie is so unfamous, it was amazing, probably my favourite classic Samurai movie ever. Obviously, a huge inspiration for Kill Bill, it's full of references.

The Hudsucker Proxy
Lovely style. Really hilarious movie with great writing, acting and directing. I loved the music too.

Bad Lieutenant: Call of Port - New Orleans
I love this Jazzy style of it, Nicolas Cage was actually really good and funny in this, it has some smart and good written scenes and manages to entertain for 110 minutes. It's nothing like the original with Harvey Keitel, except for the whole Junkie cop thing, I wouldn't consider it a remake.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Just went to a place called "Dirt Cheap CDs and DVDs". I got:

- Night of the Living Dead
- The Ultimate Zombie Collection (Zombie Flesh Eaters (AKA Zombi 2), Burial Ground, and Zombie Holocaust)
- The Wicker Man
- The Killing

It looked like the kinda place that would sell Lady Snowblood or The Great Silence, but I couldn't find either of them. Dang.

That place sounds really cool. I really want to see Zombi.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

It was pretty cool, yeah. They sell heaps of cult films and grindhouse/exploitation flicks. I remember that they had "Lizard in a Woman's Skin" and "Scream, Blacula! Scream!" along with heaps of hammer films and stuff like that. I should have bought more, they were all like 10 - 15 dollars.

I just watched it. It was awesome. mini/tongue
The eye-gouge was less gory than I was expecting (I was expecting something like the one in The Evil Dead, which was rather manky) but it was still pretty gross. The shark vs. zombie scene was incredibly cool. It had this strange psychedelic awesomeness to it. I liked the look of the zombies in this, more so than the ones in George A Romero's stuff. They were all decayed, and I remember one of them had worms all throughout one of his eyeholes. The makeup effects were really well done in this.
