That's not a great hint.

That's not a great hint.
You could have narrowed down that list easily, you know.
It's Ugetsu, which I really recommend watching. My hint to "complete the trinity" was based on the notion of Ozu, Kurosawa and Mizoguchi being the three great early postwar Japanese directors, which may or may not be accurate.
He said "nope, nope, nope"
Is it Asian at all? (2 nope)
So it was Asian? ![]()
This next one is another one of my invisibles:

Doesn't feel right, but...
Ed Wood?
Tim Burton
Johnny Depp
Martin Landau
Looks like something newer; I want to say Coffee and Cigarettes.
I looks hitchcock to me, and the woman Ingrid Bergman. I'm probably wrong but I'll try.
Spellbounds
Directed by Alfred Hitchock
Black and White
Ingrid Bergman
Or notorious, same as spellbounds (hitchock, B/W and Bergman)

No x3.
I'll post a hint tomorrow if it hasn't been guessed yet. (or repost it with the faces intact)
HINT: It's an Asian film.
Is it Ikiru
Means to live,
by Akira Kurosawa
made in 1952
^ "That's a Bingo!"
Ha, I almost saw that a couple of weeks ago but didn't have time.

Ikiru or Inglourious !@#$%^&*?
oh snap, was going to say Face of Another but it looked off, I'll have to go find a frame
Ok, here you go:

Momento
Film about a guy with short term memory loss
Narrative played backwards
Christopher Nolan's first feature length (and one of his best IMO)
