Is it all right to fade out and then have present day or 1805 to show the passage of time?
...it definitely feels like a crutch, I'd avoid it if you can. I generally find titles like that are totally unneeded. For instance a dissolve denotes passage of time in most cases...

Sorry if I was being a critic. I figured you'd have to have gone schizo to just post that out of no where.
what I don't understand is the settings of the video when uploaded to youtube. I can make the video unlisted after it is uploaded; but I don't understand how to initiate the "private" settings and allow the septemberfest youtube channel access to my vid.

You will have to allow access to the YouTube accounts of the Septemberfest 2010 judging panel (YET TO BE DECIDED)
To put a video on Private:
YouTube > My Videos > Edit (on the button next to your entry) > Broadcasting and Sharing Options > Private

You posted an advertisement for your contest here, when it is not pertinent to the topic at all. People read through this thread to learn about the Septemberfest contest, people will read through your thread if they want to find out about your contest. If you really must advertise your contest, you have a signature with which you can do anything in line with the site rules.
