Re: Photography

That spider one looks nice - what camera do you use?

Smile and say hello to people. It costs you nothing and can brighten their day.

Re: Photography

Nice ones, seems like the kind I would take.

Don't be fooled, my avatar is a facade of conformity.

The black and white one is awesome.

That bee one is pretty good.

Re: Photography

These aren't my best photographs, and I'm not the best photographer, esp. since these were taken with a camcorder. As you will notice, I love "macro" (close up focus) shots. Oh, yeah, these are all pics of my high school.

Yeah, it's this dark in the morning riding the bus. (that's a phone, in case you didn't understand the photo)

These two are close-ups of a bus's headlights.

What camera DeTarchin and Vik?
Some groovy stuff I'm seeing in this thread.

Re: Photography

This camera is my LIFE. mini/eek   I swear, nothing comes close to what this can do... at least not before 2007...
Everyone knows that I CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT THIS. Really. I never go anywhere without it, not even school (as you can see mini/tongue )
Sony Handycam HDR SR1 etc, etc, etc.
This thing has better macro focus than the human eye. I can put my finger on the lens, and it'll focus on it.

Re: Photography

DerTarchin,
Do you know how to deal with AVCHD format video?
My camera does it, but I can't figure out what to do with it.
Any help would be welcome.

Re: Photography

PMed, but for any other interested people, here are some options.

Since AVCHD format is unreadable on any computer, your camcorder should have come with a program that can read it. I have Sony Picture Motion Browser These programs usually have nothing too special, however, mine has a feature in the Manipulate tab that can Convert to MPEG-2. Converting the videos should be a feature on all of the free software that came with it but I'm not sure.

MPEG-2 is another unpopular format, but at lease most video editing programs can use it. I know for a fact that newer (Vista, Windows 7) Windows Movie Maker versions use it, and other, better, software like Sony Vegas and [maybe] iMovie, Adobe Premiere, etc can read the files as well.

The free software included with my camera (see above) can also "trim" and edit photos and videos, but I never used it, having other video/photo editing software.

As a last resort, if all else is nonexistent/fails, you could possibly do a direct upload to a DVD or YouTube (some cams/camcorders can do this) then rip the DVD/download the YouTube video afterwards. Info, data, and quality may be lost in this though.
