Topic: Untitled Western Film
Some of you may know that I am working on a western brickfilm (I ramble on about it in BiM chat). Well, yeah, I am. This is going to be the biggest brickfilm I've ever done. I've already spent over $200 for this project alone, and I'm finding more ways to fund this project. Let me just tell you; this brickfilm is going to be huge. The screenplay for this western is just about wrapping up, though it may need a few more tweaks.
Story
This movie is going to star a gunslinger named Evan Stilby, who rides into a town called Baseplate hoping to start a new life, free of crime, and bring peace to the town; he hopes to make a name for himself. He does numerous jobs to clean the town up. On his arrival to Baseplate, he meets a range of quirky characters, who eventually help out (or sometimes alter) Evan's quest to make himself known and honored in the wild times of the plastic west.
On his arrival, he realizes there's a large amount of wanted men on the loose, with rather large bounties. Most of the bandits are pretty simple for Mr. Stilby to bring in; but then there is one wanted man, with a enormous reward if found dead or alive. Evan is interested in this man. Killing the most dangerous bandit in the county (who has a posse with him, as well), would certainly make Evan known.
One day that certain bandit rides into town with his posse to stir up trouble. Evan tries to be a hero, but this bandit likes Evan's braveness and proposes to him a plan in which Evan cannot help but be intrigued. What is to happen after Evan accepts entrance into a gang, after so many years? Hilarity, chaos, and excitement ensue.
Genre
Sound like a serious film, no? Well, it's not meant to be. This is meant to be a rather humorous western tale. I reference that you are watching plastic. Oh, and there will be no (or little) naughty language or explicit violence in this movie; you see a minifig's head get shot off, but it's done in a rather humorous way. No blood. With a range of wacky characters that are to be played by talented voice actors (planning on getting at least 2 voice actors from BricksInMotion, and others from another website that features a talented voice acting community), and events that will certainly keep your bum glued to your seat, this is definitely going to be my best brickfilm yet.
Title
What to name this western brickfilm you ask? Well, I don't know. I've been meaning to like the name Wild Days in the Plastic West, but I don't know if a shorter title would be better.
Sets
Believe it or not, I was once very involved with the creation of MOCs; I enjoyed it quite a bit, and made my creations known on Flickr (tried to anyway). This film will feature detailed sets; interior and exterior. Sets will be crafted out of love to create a good atmosphere so you truly feel like you are in, the plastic west.
Quotes
Here's a small assortment of quotes, hopefully giving you a taste of how this film is going to be humorous. Quotes in italic are by Evan Stilby.
BARTENDER: Will there be anything else, mister...
No, I’m fine. I’d best be taking my leave now. The folks here don’t seem to like my presence in this here saloon. I don’t blame them. Haven’t took a warm bath in 3 weeks.
~~
UNNAMED BANDIT: So Evan. Tell me, what are ya good at besides smelling like an ape?
Well mister, I used to kill for a lot of things. I killed for my family, I killed for my life, and I killed for a piece of turkey sandwich.
~~
SHERIFF: Whoa-ho-ho there, boy. You seem to be a little... puny to be fighting any type of crime.
I’m not puny sir, I read my books.
SHERIFF: You one of them lit-lit-liter-uh-litera-literature {pronounces it as lit-erat-toor} types? You wouldn’t be fit for crime-fightin'.
