Topic: The Cave

hi everyone!
      I'm planning on making a (probably 7-12 minutes long) film about a man that has a mission like quest to go into the cave. The thing is that everyone that has gone in the cave, hasn't come out. Creatures and beasts live inside the cave mini/bigsmile .  I'm hoping to start the film as in a story or something like a mentor training the young man, sends him to a quest (don't know how the quest is really going to start) but i do have a great idea of what will happen inside.

This film is going to be adventurous, but at the same time a little scary.
This film isn't present day (with guns and vehicles) This film is around the time of swords, Armour, and lots of other things (medieval-ish)

I will have voice auditions soon (will be posted in the audio once the script is finished) But feel free to post some ideas of how tthe quest will start. If i take your idea (or multiple peoples', i will post your name (or your youtube channel name) in the description.)

I plan on having this film be 24 fps to make it smoother, unlike the frame speed i usually use (15 fps) So i will be posting tests and other small videos. Once i get around half way through the script, i might have voice auditions so i can post a trailer to this movie. So this is just my idea i felt like sharing with some people, so what better than sharing it with the whole community! mini/smile

Anyway: Here's an idea. You said people have gone before and never came out. Before the actual film, start it off with this slightly discolored, (50% Black and White) older time period, maybe a date in the corner like:  August, 1410AD or whenever you want. Show like maybe a forest or somewhere near the cave and a kid/person wandering into the camera view. The cam then follows this person until they reach the cave. After some self argument whether or not to go in (or maybe some local kids dared him) he goes in with a candle/lamp/torch/nothing. Show an all black screen (in cave), then suddenly (with appropriate music, like suddenly high pitched screech that is cut off) show like this scary face or something that comes out of the darkness in a second right at the cam screen, then all black, you hear a continuous scream fade off/echo. Then something like "present date" or some date later than above, then the training or whatever you want the story to be.

Ok, i have made a test video. The only problem is that Helium frog (the program i am using) can't let you have widescreen hd at 24 fps. only 5 or 10, so this clip is shot in 1280x720.... but then another problem occurs... i can only have 25 fps, not 24. So This clip is Made in 25 fps. so it looks like my video will have to be 25 fps.

WARNING. This is not my best. I didn't now go through any editing or re-doing the shot. This was all filmed once with no re-do's.
OTHER THING'S THAT I KNOW ARE BAD.
  1. horrible light flicker on the top of the video
  2. Few glitches, no good animation
  3. and a lot other stuff 
   (i'm a little harsh on my self...)
I plan on saving up my own money to buy an ACTUAL HD CAMERA instead of my little logitech webcam pro 9000 (which always gets in the way) so if i save up for a good camera (i have a tri-pod) This video will come out great! ALSO! i am moving my animation studio to a different room in my house (so i have more room to move and have freedom)
So feel free to post how i could improve my animation and also post some good camera that i should save up for... mini/wink
