Topic: a question for everyone

I am making a second series and it's lego indiana jones, should i make it or just stick with my custom series, because i think Lego Indaian Jones is to.....original, and I think it would be stupid to be using original ideas, and also, instead of a series, should i make films that are like 7-8 minutes a piece, so what ever you like post a comment.

A Life? Cool! Where can I download one of those from?

Re: a question for everyone

Stick with shorter films, more people will watch them when they're under 5 minutes. And making licence based films (Harry Potter, Indiana Jones, ect.) are really unoriginal. The animation folks here would definitely prefer to see something original, that you wrote. Also if your making a series avoid the dynamic duo route, again, very unoriginal and has been done many times.

Re: a question for everyone

I've never thought of having original ideas as a negative thing.

Re: a question for everyone

... You think original ideas are bad?

This scares me. Badly.

Original ideas are the bomb. Unoriginal ideas will get you only liked by YouTube n00bs.

Re: a question for everyone

does that mean original ideas (harry Potter, Indiana jones, batman) are better than unoriginal indeas?

Re: a question for everyone

Well I think it's just a matter of how you execute the film and opinion.

Re: a question for everyone

Original ideas are new and creative.  Something no ones thought of doing.  Harry Potter, Indiana Jones, Star Wars, and all that are unoriginal.  There are many videos of those things already.  It's great to have originality in your films.

Re: a question for everyone

i'm sorry guys, i got the two categorys mixed up and i thought original ideas were indiana jones and harry poter, while unoriginal ideas were my own, i get it now, so most people prefer original ideas other than unoriginal ideas>

Re: a question for everyone

I actually understand what he means. In "original", I think he means that it has been done before, and is a plot that was used before, therefore making it original, and not something new. And by" unoriginal" he meant something that is new. I'm not sure how well I explained that or if it even made sense, but I hope it does.

That made no sense. How is unoriginal "new"? And original "been done before"?
But anyways, original all the way (across the sky mini/shifty ).

Re: a question for everyone

But lets say you use Batman or something, but you create your OWN storyline. Unoriginal? Or original? mini/blankexpression

An original twist on something unoriginal.

Used to be 'Caidence'

Re: a question for everyone

Carroll, please explain what "original" means. I think you've got "original" and "unoriginal" mixed up.

Studiol30, read the thread instead of posting right away/

Re: a question for everyone

Stormtrooper, it depends. If you make your own storyline about the villains escaping from Arkham Asylum and Batman having to stop them, or a lightsaber battle without a decent plot, or Stormtroopers in the place of any other characters (as in, a movie that would function perfectly without Stormtroopers) it's not going to be a new idea. However, if you make your own storyline about the Batman universe that hasn't been done before, then you're likely to be much better accepted.

Hush, you're confusing things further. He's had it sorted out since September 6th.
