Get the ocarina. Kinect is going to sell like crap because it is crap (the pre-orders are practically nonexistent). Get anything other than Kinect.
That doesn't mean it doesn't suck. It's also hilariously overpriced, you could almost get a Wii for the price of Kinect.
Ocarina is a fun instrument, I've got a pendant that's really great for getting out with. Nice and small.
As far as Kinect goes, I certainly wouldn't try to be one of the first to buy it. If I were seriously considering purchasing it at some point, I'd wait to see what people say about it. The promotional material that's been put out so far doesn't impress me too much; it looks like it probably won't live up to the hype. It always could of course, but it's probably not worth trying to beat the rush to find out.

Kinect does intrigue me, if only because of the Michael Jackson Game. Seriously, if they do that game right, words wouldn't be able to express how face meltingly awesome that would be. The problem is, I bet its going to end up like an 'Eye Toy Groove' clone...
Wait for the Kinect to be released. If your friend buys it, you can see for yourself if it is worth it. If you like it, buy it. If you dont, you can laugh at his misfortune like the good friend you are

Booyah! I just got Battlefront II working on my computer again!
I've spent some time playing Red Dead Redemption recently.
Red Dead Redemption is a fantastic game.
I've been playing Mafia 2 recently; just beat it on medium difficulty. Wonderful game with a great story and excellent voice acting. Wish the campaign was a tad longer though; although I have DLC to look forward to.
Yeah, Red dead sure is awesome.
I was in my friend's room with him and another friend.
And everytime we had to do a standoff, i began whistling the "the Good, the Bad and the Ugly" theme through his headset.

But im still buying kinect, because i can get an ocarina for like 40 bucks.
Read Dead Redemption is an awesome game, but some of my friends (only the guys that have a console just to play Call of Duty or Fifa) got kind of burnt out during the Mexican Revolution.
I'm going for the Platinum Trophy in Uncharted 2 at the moment, and Crushing difficulty is so much fun. I don't usually enjoy the superhard/expert difficulties, but it works so well in this game, not like bloody Call of Duty World at War where you get spammed with 5 grenades at once.

I am using an XP, yes. It's just that my video card has been burned out for a long time now and just recently replaced it.
Ah, lucky duck. I wish Battlefront 2 worked on Vista or Windows 7.
