Yeah, I'm starting seventh grade but it's a fantastic school. Just lots of naughty kids. I'm in Canada, so I was in 5th grade when I was eleven.

Boys and girls, I have a piece of wisdom for you all:
If a certain thread is not of your particular liking, move along.
The 48-hour animation contest is an excellent example. While to most members, it seems nonsensical, it is within the rules.
Certain members have devoted numerous posts in that thread to detailing how low their opinion is of the contest, its creator, and the contestants. While it is perfectly fine to hold these opinions, to spend your time clogging up said thread with them is not productive. It simply creates conflict. No one is forcing you to enter this contest - or even enter the thread, for that matter. And, believe it or not, there may be those who do not share your opinions and would like to go about their contest in peace.
If you feel REALLY strongly abut the thread in question, or feel it is not within the rules, PM a mod. Making a single post is acceptable too, but chiming in once it's been said, especially multiple times, is rather unnecessary.
Now, keep in mind that this is my opinion. If you disagree with me, feel free to say so and we can discuss things.
Thank You!
I'm not a "noob" to those who called me that, and didn't mean to act like one.
Well, to be honest, you've been here for a total of twelve days. Thus, you are a noob in many people's eyes.
It's up to you to determine how you are perceived by others. Obviously you can't completely control this, but is largely in your hands.
I disagree entirely, Jargon.
We should post as much inflammatory material as we can in threads to infuriate other members, inflate our own egos, and make ourselves look like massive, pretentious, intolerable pricks.
That's seriously what some folks are doing when they post things repetitively like they have in a few threads recently. For instance, supposing a certain member wanted to make a certain *gasp* Indiana Jones film, and certain groups thought this was a terribly unoriginal idea. I would say those groups have the right to commit their feelings on the matter to writing, once. Now, supposing the original poster decided not to heed your advice, but instead made some justification, said it wasn't going to be like other films, whatever. I'm sure you know what I mean. Bombarding him with identical posts is not the right course of action. It just makes you look really silly. Incredibly silly.
There's a difference between making a point and making yourself heard, and screaming angry gibberish at the top of your lungs. No one wants to listen to that. I know I don't, anyway, and it makes the site look bad. It presents us as a bunch of insufferable bigots, and I dunno, maybe we are. Let's try out best to change that. I'm not saying you can't state your thoughts, but one time is plenty. We have to remember that we are a community site, and that some members may have a different idea of what a brickfilm should be. There's nothing wrong with that. If we can't be accepting of what they have to offer, at the very least try to be civil about it.
Additionally, I've seen a few cases where members thought it was a good idea to play 'noob patrol". I'm not going to lie, when someone double posted just to say how much of a "noob" the other person was being, I thought it was hilarious. It might have been the highlight of my day. But for the sake of the site, remove this brand of humor from my life, make me a sad person, and stop trying to call out "noobs". If someone did something you think is dreadfully terrible, report it and the moderator team will decide on a course of action. It's much simpler than when people go vigilante, trust me.
Hate ranting like this because there's always some past example that makes me look a foolish hypocrite, but I really think we should all make a point of trying to be a bit nicer to each other, and looking through our posts and making sure what we say isn't overly harsh. It's the internet, no need to be nasty.
THE OTHER WISE MAN HAS SPOKEN
And really, listen to him, because he is right.
