Re: Which One do You Prefer?

5 it's usefully for timing scenes if you animate at 15FPS.

Re: Which One do You Prefer?

4, because it's the least amount of frames needed to have a decent looking walk cycle.

Re: Which One do You Prefer?

Generally five. I feel like four is too fast for a general-purpose walk, and six is so slow that it is hard to watch.

Normally I use the 6. but sometimes I use the 5...

Re: Which One do You Prefer?

I film it at 15fps and slow it down to half so its actually 7.5 fps

actually I use 6 or 8 step walking depending on the situation. I misunderstud the question.

Re: Which One do You Prefer?

According to my software, the duration I use is 3.

You can do anything, just have fun while doing it.

Re: Which One do You Prefer?

Oh man. I'm loving the 4 frame walk. I might stick with that for outside shots, maybe for inside shots too if I feel like it.

Re: Which One do You Prefer?

I usually use a 5-frame walk cycle, unless I'm in a hurry or I want something that looks like really fast walking. Anything longer than 5 frames would be more work to get looking good than it's worth, I think.

Re: Which One do You Prefer?

I use the 6 frame walk because Hazzat suggested it and it looks WAY better than the 4 I used to do.

Re: Which One do You Prefer?

I don't think I ever tried the 4 frame I've always used the six-frame.
