Re: The Batman discussion thread.
I'm fine with a Batman thread, but if the conversation turns anywhere near forrestfire101 and his Batman films I'm gonna...Probably shouldn't say.

The Batman Star Wars Spiderman Superman Indiana Jones Scooby Doo and Toy Story movie. 8D
FF101 is so original.
/sarcasm
But I will admit, his movies are good to pass the time with, and he's actually trying to improve now, so let's give him a chance..

Darkman wrote:The Joker of course, I'd say one of the best villains ever created.
This is the most logical statement ever. I'm not being sarcastic. The Joker pwns so much, that it makes all other Batman villains look like ants. He's awesome.
Batman is cool, he really is one of the iconic super heroes.
Especially the Heath Ledger Joker.
It's such a shame that he died D:
Yeah, it causes so many problems...
I reckon Chris Nolan blames himself for it.
Apparently he gets touchy if you talk about Heath to him.
Heath did spend like a month, reading comic books about Joker and shaping the character, alone, in some flat...
That could of had an effect on him...
Yeah. The Jack Nicholson Joker was too... organized, if you know what i mean.
Heath Ledger Joker was a psychotic maniac, and he got some cool pencil tricks
Heath Ledger was also too organized, but the differance between Jack Nicholson that is that Batman (1989) doesn't take itself serious that much, The Dark Knight takes itself really serious. So the fault is with TDK.
I really like Jack Nicholson's Joker....I just prefer Heath Ledger's.
Jack is always awesome playing insane people ("HEEEERRRREEEES JOHNNY!!!") but he wasn't as creepy as Ledger and just more funny. Plus, getting his back story kind of ruined his character a bit. I prefer how you know nothing about Ledger's Joker, it just makes him more interesting.
Jack had some really funny/memorable moments though like "You.......are my number one........guy", and "HE STOLE MY BALLOONS!!"

Jack Nicholson is the only redeeming factor from Batman 89.
I agree, although it was very successful when it was first released. The problem may be that many people compare it to The Dark Knight. I prefer The Dark Knight, but that's probably because I've seen it more times and saw it before the 1989 version.
I kind of wish the two films were merged since they both have their good and bad points. But that would NEVER happen.....

I prefer The Dark Knight, but that's because 1989 Batman seems like an "old" movie to me, and when movies are "old" you automatically stop taking them seriously.
Or atleast I do...
But it's still a brilliant film, and I really hate that it's been related to it's awful sequals.

I don't see how you can't take old movies not serious, The Day The Earth Stood Still (the original) is almost 60 years old and still it had a huge impact on me, while I had more emotions for my toothbrush while walking out of the remake, movies indeed can get outdated, but not all of them, some of them even get better by age. And I wouldn't really call Batman 89 already an old film.
And Burton did pretty good with the sequel "Batman Returns".
Yeah, but it's just the way I am, sorry. ![]()
If it's older then say, ten years, I'll probably just regard every cheesey line, or mistake as an age thing...
Then again, I am posting this without seeing the movie for over a year..
Sorry if I offended you Darkman.
Please don't drop me in some industrial rollers.
You didn't really offend me man, I just wanted to point out that older movies can be good, you just gotta give them a chance. There are a lot of really great oldy's out there, but they all depend on what type of movies you like, I love horror, and I really can enjoy those classic Universal monster movies, or some Sci-Fi classics.
And don't worried, I wont hurt you ![]()

Yeah.
I've never seen many old horror movies, I'm more into Sci-Fi.
I really should pick up a couple and give them a shot.
HITCHCOCK FTW! ![]()
