Topic: Slow MonkeyJam

Recently, my MonkeyJam program has been going really slow. It takes a long time for me to see a preview of the video and to save it as a video. Any ideas why it might be going slow?

Re: Slow MonkeyJam

Because you have many frames? Usually to preview it renders the frames, when rendering the more frames you have, the longer it will take. Also, if you have Vista or Windows 7 you have to change the compatibility mode to Windows XP to get better results from monkeyjam.

Re: Slow MonkeyJam

How do you change the compatibility? And even if I do a preview of 10-20 frames it is still really slow.

Re: Slow MonkeyJam

Right click icon>properties>compatibility>Windows XP service pack (2 or 3)

Re: Slow MonkeyJam

I changed my compatibility to Windows XP service pack 2 and 3 but it is still slow. Any other suggestions?

Re: Slow MonkeyJam

Switch away from MonkeyJam.

Re: Slow MonkeyJam

Do you know a better free animation program?

AnimatorDV Simple+ is also very nice.

It'll be interesting to see whether this problem will turn out to occur just with MonkeyJam or with all programs.

Re: Slow MonkeyJam

Well, I don't know if it is the programs problem or my computer's problem. I have a Windows 7, so I think MonkeyJam should be working fine. Thanks for the other programs. I will definetly try them.

Re: Slow MonkeyJam

It's probably just because of the resolution you're using. The higher the resolution, the longer it takes to take and render frames.
