I am holding a new contest called DAD standing for death and destruction
THEME
the theme is fear show it well
MOD
the brick mod is black lego piece connected to a light grey lego piece
the letter mod is R
and the piece mod is a lego skeleton (this dosent have to be in every shot but it has to be in at least 3
RULES
one swear word is allowed but it has to be minor
no sexual references what so ever
violence is allowed
DATES
9th of august to september 5th
no pre-made brick films are allowed
SUBMISSION
once you have completed your film attach it in an email to [email protected]
if there are any errors please notify me and then you can post it on youtube of vimeo (after the contest) and we shall judge it then
please only post your once the contest is over and not during the contest
CATEGORIES
best animation
best music
best sound effects
best lighting
best effects
best theme participation
best scared voice
JUDGING
the judges shall be myself and 2 of my friends

PRIZES
1st place - a lego set of your choice for under 20£ and a large trophy with your name engraved in it
2nd place - a lego set of your choice for under 15£ and a medium trophy with your name engraved in it
3rd place - a small trophy with your name engraved in it and a small lego prince of persia set

I may enter if other people do as well. I like the idea of a doing a LEGO horror, for some reason it's never occurred to me before.

Is copywrited music allowed? Considering it's under a month till the deadline it probably should be allowed.
So the film can't be started for two days?
Damn it! I'd love to enter but I'm not getting my new Logitech Quickcam 9000 for another week or so. Is it possible to extend the ending date?

You know you have to give out more than 21 prizes considering there are 7 categories? That's a lot of work (or unless you only get the prizes in the overall category.) I might enter though, if I think of anything haha.

A thought occured to me. What do you mean by lego mod? Like does our story HAVE to be about a skelington?
A mod is a sort of tradition in brickfilming competitions. In THAC, it's to insure that the film was made within the 24 hour time period. It just insures that you made it within the time period. Although, for this competition, he released the mod elements early, which gives entrants the opportunity to make an entry early. Bad idea.
Okay, I am entering this. Only because it has prizes, plus I've always wanted to try to make a horror movie with lego, PLUS, since there are SEVEN catagories and THREE prizes for each, I think I have a good chance of winning something!
