Topic: a faster way too mask?

hey! i just had an idea for all you istopmotion users out there.
wouldnt masking be made a lot easier if you just croma keyed (green screened) the suporting bricks out?
tell me what you think!

Even provided that your supporting rig is completely green, it would probably only work partially because the green parts aren't lit evenly so will contain many different shades of green. (You can substitute 'green' for any colour here). Still, it might help, I guess?

Taking the time an patience to manually rotoscope the frames in brickfilms will always trump automatic green screening in my experience.

I've already tried. Either it doesn't key out all the rig or it gets some of the minifig. mini/madhead  I've already found a better way.

The rigs don't have to be bricks, they just have to be key-able, or if you're shooting with a green/bluescreen, the rig color has to match the screen.
