Hmmmm...

  • It's Pretty Small

  • And Manual Focus

That's all I can think of right now...

HD, you're lucky, I got mine for £75 on Amazon. Jump at the chance while you can.

Re: Is the QuickCam pro 9000, really worth the money?

If you have a Windows machine, absolutely.

With a native maximum resolution of 1600x1200 you can shoot in almost 1080p HD (I shoot at 1600x900 and downsize it to 720p HD). It has computer-controlled focus which means you don't have to touch the webcam to turn a focus ring in order to focus correctly. It has full manual controls you can use to get awesome picture quality (provided you have some desk lamps). It's small and there are numerous LEGO rigs designed by members it fits in perfectly so that it won't move around. It has a pretty long cable so that you can move it around a lot. It is also reported that the QuickCam 9000 is able to peel your bananas and make you a sandwich.

I'd say that the QuickCam 9000 is for both beginners and experienced/skilled brickfilmers. There are some who use a digital camera to shoot their brickfilms with (you should note that as good as the QC9k is as a webcam, even low-end digital cameras will have a better camera sensor), but digital cameras are a whole different and much more complicated area.

In short, for brickfilming on a PC/Windows machine the QuickCam 9000 is probably the best webcam on the market out there.

Thanks. Do you find lightflicker while using the QuickCam pro 9000?

Re: Is the QuickCam pro 9000, really worth the money?

It doesn't matter what camera you are using, you'll get light flicker with every camera. The way to prevent it is by getting 2 or more lamps.

Re: Is the QuickCam pro 9000, really worth the money?

I looked on amazon. And there was two types of this cam. HD and Non-Hd. Is this possible?

Re: Is the QuickCam pro 9000, really worth the money?

I had a bit of brightness change issues (that is, when a new character entered the screen the picture would just get brighter for some reason) when I just got my 9000, but they are fixed now. I think they had something to do with the anti-flicker settings.

Re: Is the QuickCam pro 9000, really worth the money?

Hmm, that'll help BertL, I've had that problem and I normally have anti flicker on. I'll turn it off now.

Re: Is the QuickCam pro 9000, really worth the money?

What happened to those C series cameras Sean was talking about. He said they had manual focus.

Re: Is the QuickCam pro 9000, really worth the money?

What do you guys mean about the anti-flicker? Is that the setting on monkeyjam?

No, it's one of the webcam's settings.
