Topic: Lego Animation Camera

I was browsing the new Argos catalogue earlier (Brits only....) when I came across this:

Apparently Lego are back in the stop motion game, but from the reviews I've seen on Amazon it really seems to be nothing special:

Deep Blue page:

640x480 resolution etc, really nothing special these days. Also I find it mildy insulting how they exclude the "motion" out of stop motion animation.

If this has already been posted, I apologise, I've been out of the loop for quite some time.

Re: Lego Animation Camera

Stop animation my a$$. mini/rolleyes

Apparently, based on the amazon reviews, the software is awful. With a 640x480 resolution, this is a big fat no way for "hardcore" brickfilmers.

I do not care about your opinion, unless it has to do with it needing more ponies.

Re: Lego Animation Camera

It definitely isn't worth it considering for the same price you can get a QCP9K with resolution up to 1600X1200 and the Quickcam can get lower to the table which is a plus. The Digital Blue camera looks like it is too tall to be good. And the quality of it is questionably, being that to my knowledge it doesn't use any sort of Carl Zeiss lens, and I have yet to see and footage taken with it.

Bottom line to anyone thinking about it, don't think about it mini/tongue . It's just not worth $80.

EDIT: Just realized I type 'does' not 'doesn't' where I mention the lens.

Re: Lego Animation Camera

Well. It is Digital Blue. When I first started animating, I used Digital Blue 2.0 still camera. It worked a lot better than the Lego camera would.

That tripod looks like it may come in handy though.

Re: Lego Animation Camera

Wasn't the original Lego Studios camera from Digital Blue?

Anyway, looks pretty rubbish.

Re: Lego Animation Camera

Actually, it was a Logitech.
