So, you're saying that a Greek guy is supposed to sound American? British? Etc?

In the midst of the more "Greek" accents, and then all of a sudden you have this guy from the same place with a completely different accent, it just seemed kind of weird to me.

Inception

It took a while for it to get going, but once it did, the waiting and build up was well worth it.  Always fun to see a movie that you actually have to concentrate to keep up.  Definitely a must see.

Get Him To The Greek
More funny than I expected, maybe because I'm really into music and this film is all about music jokes.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

The Invention of Lying

It wasn't quite as bad as I expected it to be from some reviews I read back when it came out. As expected, though, the concept made my brain unravel trying to think about it. Also, when you got right down to it, it wasn't really a world in which lying simply didn't exist, but one in which telling the truth was super-compulsory, especially when someone walked by random strangers who otherwise normally wouldn't have said anything.

Plus, it was weird how lying didn't exist, but some jokes seemed to revolve around open deception, for instance, what the woman said at the casino. Why would anyone frequent casinos if they said that to your face? Again, it was more about compulsiveness than lying. Who the heck would go on dates in which people insulted each other? Actually, it seems that it would simplify things more, because people's inability to lie for politeness' sake would insure a speedy realization of whether or not the other party wanted to get jiggy all up in the bedroom.

I dunno, it just came off as awkward to me.

Highlights:] Edward Norton's cameo as a crazed cop, and the invention of religion.

Another thing that bothered me a little was the repeated use of montages set to music. It began to seem as though Gervais and Robinson were lost without that particular device. I did like the soundtrack in the main, though.

I kinda started biting myself during the climax when

Gervais gave his speech at the church. I guess I shoudn't have expected anything different, but I just started thinking, 'Man, why doesn't that chick just tell the creep in the glasses and the fat man to bugger off so she can go back to pleasing herself?!'

Overall, it was *okay*, but not something I have to see again any time soon.

Full Metal Jacket
Once again, another great Kubrick film.

Inception
Eh, it was good.

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

Really outstanding cinematography, that was probably the most striking feature about it. The film itself was good, though I haven't read the books that far, so I have nothing to really compare it to. I take it the book was significantly more subtle about the romantic side-plots, but as far as crowd-pleasing fodder like that goes, they were still fun to watch.

Hermione crying in the Astronomy Tower was a particularly touching scene.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

I Am Legend

It was a very emotional film, one of the most emotional films we've ever seen. The cinematography in this film was fantastic, it definitely made you feel as if you were in the film. The story was also very well thought of & written. And the fight scenes, oh my gosh, we can't describe how great they were. This movie was definitely worth watching.

Toy Story 3

Spoiler (click to read)

We've read & heard a lot of reviews about this movie before we saw it yesterday, & we can say that all of those reviews were correct. The movie was awesome! The CGI animation was excellent, so amazing that in fact, I completely forgot about the production for most of the movie, & the same with my brother. The story was probably the greatest out of all three movies, especially the last two scenes of the film, which were the most emotional out of any PIXAR movie in our opinion. The special effects were also outstanding, particularly the atomic bomb of monkeys & the extreme fiery pit at the end. And seeing it in 3D made the movie unbelievable. This movie was worth our money.

Re-watched Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince again last night.

Those films get prettier every time.

There was no other way to describe what we were saying. And we felt we needed to say the special effects & story. We are sorry that we spoiled it (though it didn't spoil it that much).

Inception

It truly lives up to the hype, intelligent, original and just amazing. The best movie of the year and a possible classic to come.
I recommend it to everybody (but make sure you arn't tired or anything, cause you really need to follow this movie from beginning to ending well to understand importent stuff)
But amazing stuff, 2 thumbs.

Nightmare on Elm Street
I enjoyed it, a very interesting slasher/horror film. Though the last shot ripped off Carrie's ending.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Inception

Really good movie, I enjoyed it a lot, it had a great cast, original story, great pacing, great music etc. but I expected more to be honest. Of course my expectations were really high so that could be the cause of it.
I don't think it's Nolan's best film, but certainly a very good one.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer

Definitely not as bad as G. I. Joe, I actually liked the story much better, it was just the details and execution of it all that made it terrible and hard to watch (like, WHERE THE HELL DID THAT HOVER CRAFT COME FROM, AND HOW DO THEY ALL SUDDENLY KNOW HOW TO FLY IT?). I like the origin story they gave Silver Surfer though, and aside form the terrible CGI, they actually made him look like a chill dude. He was probably the coolest guy in the movie, in fact he's the only reason I kept watching. I had seen the first Fantastic Four a few years before but I had watched it with the sound off (through the entire movie), I am now glad that I watched it with the sound off, wow terrible dialogue (by pretty much everyone).

2.5/4

The English Patient

Extremely well acted movie. The acting pulled it all together.

4/5

G. I. Joe: Rise of Cobra

Man, I can't even explain to you how bad this was. It was so bad it had to rip off The Phantom Menace to make it better (look for it, it's there!). It's a racist, sexist, war glorifying piece of CGI crap. And I loved how you could tell through out the movie, even though he had a lot of make up on, Joesph Gordon-Levit didn't take it seriously one bit. But anyway, bad movie.

Forgot a movie!

Resident Evil: Extinction

Just another zombie movie, but it was a good zombie movie. Aside from this I've only seen a little bit of the first movie, but I've saw enough to understand this movie pretty well. Milla Jovovich was pretty bad ass.

The House of the Devil

Dude, how have I not heard of this!? I found this 80's style horror movie, made in 2009, while surfing through Netflix instant view on my Xbox 360. If you are a fan of classic horror, this movie will be quite a treat for you.
