Topic: The best types of animation Cameras

What are your preferred camera types.  Compact? Camcorder? Webcam? Other?

I prefer Camcorders, as they are easy to use, generally come with a remote and give fairly good quality.  Better still are the HD Camcorders which give fantastic animation results

Re: The best types of animation Cameras

camcorders are nice but to get the good ones they cost alot, meanwhile the webcams give amazing quality with such a cheap price (the 9k), so i think webcams are the best!;)

Re: The best types of animation Cameras

it depends on your budget. webcams will do fine and theyre really easy to use etc. camcorders i think are the worst option cause theyre big and probably shoot in sd.

It all depends on your purpose, it needs to be cleared all here: http://www.brickfilms.com/index.php?act … r%20You%3F

What's the point of making brick models if your little brother destroys them?

Re: The best types of animation Cameras

Yes, but that is a bit outdated, and doesn't include anything about DSLR's, as the digital photo cameras described are not even close to DSLR's

Re: The best types of animation Cameras

If you know how to use the Quickcam Pro 9000, it's great.

Re: The best types of animation Cameras

I found the quickcam to be a bit small and flimsy (just my opinion) whereas a camcorder or DSLR are sturdy

Re: The best types of animation Cameras

I had been using a Panasonic SDR camcorder, but my sister has a Panasonic Lumix digital camera...
The quality is better, but I need to find out if it has a manual focus, because the auto focus can be
annoying. mini/rolleyes

Re: The best types of animation Cameras

Micro 4/3 are the best for animation, because DSLR's (Unless you get top-notch) have a warranty on how many times, the mirror can get out of the way, which is about 10,000. Micro 4/3 can have lens' and take awesome photos.
