Topic: Character Outlining in GIMP

Well, we've found it kind of hard to make posters by drawing paths or free selecting around LEGO minifigures. Our posters end up looking terrible because of the poorly cut-out pasted picture. We would like to know if there is an easier way to cut a character & paste it into a different image easily in GIMP.

Re: Character Outlining in GIMP

there's not another way kid; unless the minifigure is in front of a white background, then just put it on multiply

Re: Character Outlining in GIMP

Well, you should zoom in on certain areas and make small segments. It takes a while, but it comes out great!

Re: Character Outlining in GIMP

Not to be rude, but can you guys stop posting new threads? I looked at your previous ones, and I saw that you've posted 30 threads, since June 11, that=a thread a day! Unealthy.

Well, not to be rude, but we are encouraged to post new threads to ask questions.  And since a lot of people say that we're not too good at animating, we need to ask questions to get better.

JP, that's the thing. You don't get better at animating by asking questions. You get better by practicing. Everyone starts out sucking when the first start brickfilming. You'll get better if you just practice.

Re: Character Outlining in GIMP

That's true to a point, but practicing will only get you to a certain point, asking about different techniques will help us along with practice.

Re: Character Outlining in GIMP

Sure, but you don't need to constantly make threads.

Re: Character Outlining in GIMP

Okay, we will try to look at older threads before we post new ones. mini/smile
