So, I am not very technologically savvy (I still write all my scripts in longhand!). I would love to know how to make Signatures and Avatars. Could anyone help?
There are basically two good programs you can use to make your own custom signatures and avatars: Gimp and Photoshop. Of the two, Gimp it the free one, and also the one I use to do everything. If you want specific details on how to work the tools and create certain effects, either look up tutorials or come down to the Gimp/Photoshop Talk thread. Can't wait to see your work! 
Seeing as how this thread is shaping out, this belongs in the Software/Hardware thread.
