Topic: Green Screen on Mac?

Hey there,  I'm pretty sure there isn't a thread on this (if there is let me know) so I'm wondering if anybody knows of a good freeware for doing green screen that is available for Mac .  I know there are several that do it that you can pay for, but I would really like something that is free and effective, because I'm just that cheap. mini/smile  So if any one could help me out, that would be great.

This seems to work: http://www.wikihow.com/Make-a-Greenscreen-on-a-Mac
I don't know if it works with other versions, though.

Re: Green Screen on Mac?

Ya, I've tried the plug in for imovie, but I found that it gave pretty crappy results.  The key wasn't very good and it made the picture all grainy.

Have you looked at t@b ZS4?

Please don't bump old threads. This thread is more than a year old, it's dead. And iMovie was already tried and the results weren't pleasing.

Re: Green Screen on Mac?

I don't mean to be a jerk when I say this, but is it against the rules on bricks in motion to bump old threads? mini/confused

Re: Green Screen on Mac?

It's worth noting that "Prologue," not stupidlegos101, bumped the thread.  This particular bump isn't so bad since it is an answer to a question that hadn't really been answered successfully.  The problem is more when people bump an old discussion and don't really have much to add.

Re: Green Screen on Mac?

Well, I'm just gonna pop in here and say that I'm pretty sure green screening can be done in Blender. In fact, this should work nicely. The end result does look a little crummy, but I'm pretty sure that is the fault of the camera, and not Blender.

A thread is not dead when new information is posted, which is what happened here. There's also this fancy thing called 'updates', which is where software is 'updated' with new features. Perhaps the OP was using iMovie '08 and not '09, etc. You never know.

Re: Green Screen on Mac?

On your YouTube channel it says you use Final Cut Express. I use Final Cut Express for chroma keying, and I have pretty good results. The green-screening in iMovie doesn't really work that well.

Re: Green Screen on Mac?

Don't you have final cut? that offers full green screening
