not worth ten dollars.
I also have never used the Lego Studio software, but by all accounts it was pretty terrible, and seeing how it is now quite old, you would be better off getting software from here: http://www.bricksinmotion.com/forums/to
ware-list/
That list should have everything you need to get started brickfilming, all for free. Fortunately, it doesn't take much to get into brickfilming, you can start out with something like MonkeyJam or Anasazi and Windows Movie Maker and make a fine film. Lucky for us it's all out there free for the taking.
Welcome to Bricksinmotion by the way! Be sure to check around the site and see what's here to see, we'll be glad to help with any questions you might have.

Do you still have that really long film made on it Bert? I swear you said ages ago that there was some 5 hour film made on it and you had a DVD.

As most others have said, the LEGO Studios software isn't quite good by today's standards. You'd be better off going to the Free Software Thread, linked above by Squash.
Considering the software is a decade old now, as every has said, there is some great freeware out there that does the justice that Stephen Speilberg licensed set couldn't even do back in the day.
It's basicly WMM for lego (or Imovie for macs). Use that if you want something that's almost the same.

Actually, the Lego Studios software is worse; it forces you to export all your videos in a thumbnail sized format, so you practically have to squint to see anything.
Ten years, I hadn't realised the Lego Studios line was that old already.
Anyway, you're much better off checking out the free software online, Squash linked to another thread in which you can find a bunch of great programs.
I'd reccomend trying out Anasazi or Monkeyjam, though Anasazi is easier if you're only just starting out.
Hey Joey, welcome to BiM.
The LEGO Studios software wouldn't be the best software to use as it is stinking OLD. (Ten years as said before. Almost as old as you. )
I'd say your best bet if you'd be willing to pay ten dollars for a software, you shouldn't get a software. If you even find a software for ten dollars, most likely it's going to suck. I'd suggest saving up your money to get Stop Motion Pro, which is a fairly easy software to use.The cheapest version is 70 dollars. I use Stop Motion Pro, and I'd recommend it to anyone. Here's the website of SMP.
Also, if you don't want to save up 60 more dollars, you could just get a free animation program. MonkeyJam is a really good free software.
Here's the website for MonkeyJam.
I hope this helps!

its always great to see a new member, well your better off with windows movie maker its fairly simple to use and it can add titles sounds and all im gonna guess your on windows so you already have it dude i use monkey jam to just chose my fps then export it to windows movie maker then edit it there but whatever works for you
I kinda dig the look of the LEGO Studios software. It looked cool in The Lego Chainsaw Massacre IMO. It was kinda creepy.
But I guess you probably won't be making creepy lego horror films. There's a lot of free software out there which is just fine for beginners, namely MonkeyJam.
