Why doesn't filmyguy just use gimp to do his own lightsabers? 
And have you ever tried doing lightsabers in Gimp? It takes forever. 
And I know how to use Gimp.

Gimp doesn't work on my computer.
maybe LSmaker works, it's faster and gives a much better result 
Ls maker may be faster, but i think gimp offers a better result. Also, sometimes ls maker doesn't export properly.
And have you ever tried doing lightsabers in Gimp? It takes forever.
Oh, you don't need to tell me about it. I know, I've had loads of experience. TOO MUCH experience.

Yes, it takes a very long time to make lightsaber effects in GIMP. As well as STAR WARS lasers.
