Topic: How do you promote your youtube channel?

if you have a youtube channel and you dont get much views what do you do to promote it?
do you even promote it? or just let it go by itself.

THANKS!! 100DSC

Re: How do you promote your youtube channel?

go post your videos on sites. I've got some other interests etc so I am on other forums, and I like to post my videos on the coffee shop sections, or sections that for things other than the what site is really for - if you catch my drift.

Put a link to the youtube account in your signature as well. My brother helped me get a lot of views for some of my videos by posting them on a car forum he's on.

And of cause, make decent videos. And do something that I struggle on, keep making them. If people like what they see, and they see that you make quite a bit of it, they'll subscribe.

Re: How do you promote your youtube channel?

Silents, do not go "Grave-Digging" this thread doesn't need anymore posts.

Re: How do you promote your youtube channel?

Skwizitanee, do not go "Forum-Police" on someone every time you see him doing something wrong.

Re: How do you promote your youtube channel?

Like this.

This is a genuine question, though, why is replying to old threads so frowned upon here? I'm not trying to stir up a fight, just genuinely curious.

Re: How do you promote your youtube channel?

Don't deliberately try to promote it. I never posted my links anywhere other than to my friends on MSN (back in 2007) and look where I am now. I found that if you make good quality content (or at least content that's entertaining) people will want to watch.

It's not actually that frowned upon. The only way it would be problematic is if somebody would post something like a single word or nothing but an emoticon in an old thread. This is mainly because it contributes nothing to the topic at hand.

What silents429 did is perfectly okay, however. The problem lies in that a lot of newer members have no idea how the etiquette surrounding bumping topics works, and then you get members like skwizitanee posting posts like the post he posted.

Skwiz... I don't think you understand the rules of this forum... there is nothing wrong with bumping a thread if the person has something to add to the topic. Silent had stuff to add to the topic therefore he is not doing anything wrong. You however are wrong for saying he did something bad and for not adding anything to the topic.

FilipeJMonteiro to clear things up there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. However we have some members who like to shout at other members for bumping even though It's not against the rules. Don't let Skwiz's outburst put you off from joining in on discussions.

Anyway back on topic. Personally I just leave my youtube channel on it's own. If I post something that is of good quality then people will go and have a look conversely when I upload videos of bad quality (a habit of mine) you'll find less people want to go. I focus mainly on the content than the medium itself.

Re: How do you promote your youtube channel?

Hah, no, this wasn't a bad experience =P
Thank you all for explaining. I've seen some cases where that happens, but now I get that the members' attitude was the issue. Thanks guys!

Re: How do you promote your youtube channel?

I'm almost certain you didn't need to dig up this old topic-

And I hate to say it because of what's been posted above by Hoogle and others

Re: How do you promote your youtube channel?

Yeah, that's an example of a bad bump. Not only is it not contributing anything to the topic, it's spam.
