Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Princess Mononoke
(Well, to be more precise, I watched the first hour-forty-five before it broke.)
Amazing film, despite being a bit more gory than I prefer.

I never plan on buying anything when I go to the Lego Store.
Strangely enough, I always wind up finding something that makes me ditch those plans.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Toy Story 3

Probably my personal fav Toy Story of the trilogy.

Man, and this was Dreamwork's year to make a better movie than Pixar. I mean, HTTYD was great, and TS3 could have easily been Pixar's weakest film, but nopity-nope.

How have you seen it already?!

We don't get it til July 23rd!!!!!

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

The A-Team
Loved it. It wasn't amazing, but it was one of the funnest movies I've seen for a while. It doesn't deserve those bad reviews.

Mind was blown. Pants were soiled.

Wonderful Pixar masterpiece. Only complaint, and it is very MINOR for me, were the scenes with Ken and Barbie. I don't know, I just kind of cringed at those parts -- But I easily overlooked those parts.

Saw about 10 minutes of the new A-Team... Shaky camera EVERYWHERE; so much I couldn't enjoy it. No thanks.

Serenity
Not knowing what this was about when I watched it, I was very surprised to find how great this movie is. It has a rich story line, good special fx, and plenty of action. Now one of my favorite movies.

Toy Story 3
I liked it. It felt like it was maybe only an hour long, when it was closer to 3 hours long and that bugged me. Other than that, it was really funny. And I liked the ending credits, it gave a feel to the first movie. The animation was what I've come to expect form Pixar.

Atlantis: The Lost Empire

I haven't seen this film in 5-6 years now, at least, and decided to get it on NetFlix. I didn't know why; I remembered hating the film; we actually used to own it. Now, I'm not sure why I hated it at all. It's actually pretty good; admittedly, not the best film ever, but I still enjoyed it. I'd easily give it four stars out of five.

I didn't love it but I agree, I was surprised. I probably enjoyed watching it more than Avatar.

Also, Fight Club's probably my favorite film I've seen, though to be fair I haven't seen too many of the greats. Everything about it technically is great, and it has a compelling plot and the twist is great. I'm also a pretty into Palahniuk in general.

EDIT: I just realized I used a great deal of the word great in those two sentences.

Weird. I just came back from The A-Team and didn't notice shaky camera effects at all. So did you walk out of the theater after 10 minutes, or what's going on here...?

So yeah. The A-Team (THIS REVIEW GOT SPOILERS YO)

I liked it a lot. It has some great jokes in there, the action is great and you really enjoy it if you take it for what it is: a mediocre remake of a series that is very charming in its own way. I was disappointed by the ending though - after the big ship was starting to sink] it all felt a bit out of place even with the wackyness of this film. I also think the whole mish mash the planning and execution together] style was done a bit too often in the film, but I'll take it. Definitely worth the couple of bucks it cost me to see it.

If you don't like it you're Charles Manson.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

12 Angry Men

A movie about twelve people yelling back and forth at each other in a single set for an hour and a half had so much potential to go wrong...and yet never did. In fact, it did everything it needed to nearly flawlessly: spot-on acting and writing, excellent dramatic tension, and even featured a great deal of subtlety. Hats off to you, Sidney Lumet and Henry Fonda, hats off to you.

Oldboy

Wow, this certainly was a unique experience. I loved it. The mood, the soundtrack, the protagonist, the style. I expected more fight scenes though, but the ones they had were quite awesome. It really makes you wonder why

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

I was disheartened greatly today.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9wdzvhcyEno

I was so mad I sent this to CBC:

"Hi, I am a proud canadian who enjoys watching CBC. You people, however, have let me down. Your latest movie review for Toy Story 3 was despicable, Eli Glasner is so ignorantly blind to notice a good movie. And it's made me feel genuinely sad, Toy Story 3 was a huge accomplishment, not only in being the best out of all of the Toy Story's, but being a phenomenal animation creation. It is extraordinary.

I think you should consider putting up a help wanted sign."

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Jesus, don't do that. It annoys me so much when critics get harassed for not liking a popular movie. And note that I'm not saying that I agree with the guy, or even that I like his reviewing style. A film critic isn't there only to confirm your opinion.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Agreed, people have different opinions, stop thinking what you think about something are facts.
